Oh my gosh! Im looking into getting a car. At this point, I have 2 and ONLY 2 in mind. One's $3000, the other $3600. Im 19, at a minimum wage job, so the $16,900 Dodge Charger is out of my price range for a first car. haha
Choice one is Toyota Camry 98' It is in good condition but leaks pressure steering fluid and needs 2 new back tires.
Choice two is Ford Mustang 96' Its two years older than the Camry, and I dont know AS MUCH about this car, as in what it needs. This one is in a carlot, the other from a friend. I have no credit, so Im thinking this one will be a credit booster, for I already know they will work with me, even with no credit. The lot owner is nice too. Family uses them for a different vehicle.
I already looked up insurance, and first quote I got, the camry is cheaper, but only by $50 a month.
Sooo....Whats your opinions, people?
Some know the Mustang/toyota. heres more info guys. Anyone care to cast a vote? XD
WELL. I don't know a lot about cars either, but I have heard that camrys are pretty solid cars. The only other thing I could think of is that if you don't have credit, a car lot may want you to have a co-signer before they let you take a car. I just like camrys better so if I were you I would probably take that one :o
I really don't know about cars. If you go to my profile you will understand. looks at age I just looked at the pictures and they are both really pretty. I sort of agree with with the credits and the co-signer(doesn't know what talking about) XP If it leaks though, that could be a problem. It might have to wind up at the "car hospital". Find out more with the Ford Mustang '96. I might take the Ford Mustang because my mom has a Ford and Mustangs, I think, are really cool. That's just my opinion. laughs
Wow, used cars are pretty pricey where you live o.O My mom got an awesome Ford Mondeo without anything wrong for only 600 € (~ $ 830):o
Uhm, well. I would say take a look at both cars first and get them looked through by someone who knows what's up and can tell you how much you can add to the buying cost, especially for the carmy because leaking is never s good thing.
I don't know much about either, but what I do know is that Mustangs, particular the 90s though early 2000s models, are front heavy. Almost all of their weight is in the engine compartment, so accidents happen a lot with them, especially if you lose control. They also suck on gas. 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway...And that's if you aren't heavy on the gas pedal (and if it's a manual.)
The '98 Camry gets better gas milage: 18 mpg in the city, 26 on the highway. Idk the cylinders and whatnot, so I'm making a guess. I personally don't like Camrys. They also get problems as they get older, from what I've seen.
Oh, and the cops like Mustangs. :x
I would do some more research before you make a final decision. All of the info I have is rather one-sided.
Personally, I would look into more options. You dont' want to buy a car that already has problems. And the mustang...just no. XD Plus they're both over 10 years old. That actually seems quite expensive to me. There has to be a more reliable/newer car out there somewhere for around the same price.
Good luck car hunting!!
MUSTANG?! Dunno, I don't know crap about cars. Good luck though. XD
I know just a teeny bit about cars, and if I were you, I'd go for the Camry, because Toyotas are really reliable- for example, my family bought a four-year-old Corolla in '98, and it was in the family for twelve years.
But I would definitely not get the Mustang, even though they do look cool, they're probably pretty crappy cars. If you decide neither of those cars will work for you, there are always other options. :)
Eh, I've thought about it (i'm kinda indecisive. XD), and maybe that Camry is better than the Mustang, by looking at the posts. The mustang looks nice, but it seems that you're more familiar with the Camry, right? :) So I would say get as much info about both as possible, maybe try to haggle a bit, and BAM! Enjoy your new car, and good luck finding a suitable one for you! :D
I see mustangs everywhere in my town. I don't really like them though.
I don't know a lot about cars but I say keep on looking for a car that is decently priced and doesn't have problems with it!
Went to check mustang out a bit more today and it looks great, but theres a few problems with it. For one, the drivers side window doesnt roll down. lol Im sorry. Call me a brat, but thats something that needs to work, or easily fixed. The seats power-adjusted and thats broke, and the radio doesnt work. Big uh-oh cause I like my jams. Waterline or something I heard my dad mutter was about to go out. Im sorry. I loved the look of the car, and it felt good driving it, but the mustangs out. Sticking with the camry for now. =)
My ex boyfriend has a toyota camry from the 90's and that car is AMAZING. It might not be the most high tech piece of equipment but it is reliable! His has over 160k miles and it has small problems but nothing major. I'd recommend this one only because I don't know anything about the mustang.
THAT MUSTANG IS BEAUTIFUL. I don't know much about cars, even though I watch Top Gear - but please go for the pretty Mustang? :o Aren't Mustangs, like, designer cars or something??
I've got to admit, I don't know much about cars. And when I say that, it means I know NOTHING about cars... ^~^ Between the two, I'd personally rather the Mustang, maybe because the name sounds cooler, or perhaps not... ;) The car I REALLY want is the Dodge Viper. That thing is a BEAUTY!! I'll try finding pictures of it and posting them ;)
