Edited this to make it more clear:

Bumping Feature:

*that allows you to bump a topic limited times in a day so you wouldnt have to keep making a new thread

*possibly only in certain topics

I suggested this because wajas another pet site allows members to bump their topics up so other people can see their thread when it moves to the 2nd or 3rd page where no one really looks

Well yea I mean I understand lots of bumping but I didnt mean an actually post Its just a button that bumps it and you cant bump it until whatever time I think it used to be on wajas like 4mins or more i dont remember

I try to sell items and within like 10mins the post is gone by the night and I would love to bump it up so the people who come on during the night can look at it.

I agree with Deli.

Usually I'm a fan of the non-bumping rule here on Subeta for the reasons listed above. But it is indeed aggravating not being able to bump advertising and art threads. To me, it causes more spam the way it currently is. The people will have to remake the topic and unless you use the exact same title (not that likely) people will assume this is a whole new thread and click only to find out it's just the same thing now in two spots. It makes it so hard to keep track of things!

I really like your idea Deli about the bumping feature. Wonder if that could be implemented into the forums. I don't think you should be able to use it willy nilly, but it would be a huge help once your topic got past page one on the advertising/art forums!

and

I suggested a bumping feature that allows you do to it for a limited time and possibly on certain types of topics if that helps. Because you have to wait a day for it to disappear into the pages to start a new one or waste time making a ticket and locking it to make a new one.

It's a good idea...it's hard when you are trying to get whatever message out there and it gets pushed out of the way so quickly. I voted 10 on the idea because on certain threads it would be great.

Not a problem...if it's a good idea, then there's no reason not to support it IMO.

This just happens to be a REALLY good idea. ;)

I love Deli's idea, I hate having to spend like half an hour re-making an advertising board because my last one dropped to like page 5 and I was the last poster.

Does it matter whose idea it was?

I personally don't want a bumping feature, it would give an advantage to those who are online more often and confuse the forums as to which topics are popular. I understand how annoying it is losing your advertising board so maybe the bumping tool should only be available on certain sections of the forums?

This. ^

I don't really think this feature is needed. You can simply create a new thread if your old one is past/on page 3. You can also easily ask a customer to post back on that thread, so it doesn't die or something.

yea but trying to bump threads by commenting is against the rules I thought.

Nono, I meant if you for example make art for someone and he posted on that thread before, he can post after he has gotten his art and say like 'good luck' or stuff. ;)

Yea but I was always told that if you keep doing that its considered against the rules. Is there an actually rule about that? I know its easy to get away with cause all you have to say is thanks or good luck but i dont believe your allowed too
