I love the fact that you can vend things from the holiday shop as I am a terrible RSer but when it is a festive time I vend for those lovely new seasonal items.

My only problem is that everything else that vends out of the Dragons Hoard vending machine becomes quite depreciated.

With this in mind I thought maybe the machine that the holiday shop vends out of could change. I thought maybe it could spend a month in each machine. We currently have 11 machines which is perfect as it means every year the months for each machine would be slightly different (therefore the busy seasonal months wouldn't always be the same machines).

I don't know if this is possible programming-wise but I think it would be brilliant if it could be done ^_^

I think it's fine as it is. You get holiday stuff plus a ton of frag food :)

I like the rotating idea, gives me a reason to vend at vending machines I don't usually use. Though in the summer there's no holidays (I think from like May to September actually), so it'd be rotating through 7 or 8 vending machines instead

- I think if it were to rotate it should do it ever month regardless of holiday months as otherwise it would be awkward plus cos there's 11 machines it wouldn't be the same machines always

I think holiday shop should be moved to Graveyard machine.

I don't see it as a problem that the items get depreciated. That some items appreciate over time, and others depreciate over time is a feature of the game of Subeta. Up until the new Library Quest, the lack of Reading Drive was dropping the costs of books tremendously. If you're gonna object to this kind of thing, why are you playing?

I see this idea as solving something that's a problem for you, and then spreading the pain to everyone else who vends at the other machines ---.

Another vending machine that is nearly useless, although not so much as the Graveyard one, is Shining Crane.

- Wouldn't it make Quentins quests worthless though?

- woah sweetie I'm playing cause I love subeta! I only thought this might help keep all the items at a higher value rather that things such as shoes becoming worth a pitance. No need to be so harsh

I honestly cannot tell why this matters, that some things sell for so little. For years people have been complaining about inflation. Even though Subeta policy has been sucessfully deflationary the whole time. Sometimes, they do this while also complaining that (whatever item that doesn't interest them, or which they have a lot of) is so cheap.

I apologize, I really didn't mean to sound harsh, but I can't make any sense out it, sorry. Since I really am not understanding what you mean, can you help me please?

- I just felt that is was a little sad that things vended out of the Dragons Hoard ended up so cheap because of the extra vending attention it gets at seasonal times. I thought it might make them less cheap if the holiday shop vending moved around. (I also thought it might be fun every month tracking down where the holiday shop items were vending from, although after the first year you would have the pattern).

I don't really know much about economics on the site and it doesn't really bother me too much, I will vend where the holiday shop is no matter what. I just thought it a little sad that the items become worth so little and thought it might be nice to spread the depreciation around a bit.

vending warps the prices of everything, to an intensive degree. I have the sixth biggest shop in Subeta. I was fifth, but I just blew 120K items from my shop because crystal fragging became much easier to do

Even though I blew all these items out of the economy, the prices of those, they aren't rising. I left a few of each in my shop, just in case my having lots of them out there and for sale was acting all Wal-marty and suppressing the price below the real cost. I'd see them suddenly selling if their price rose. They're not. I think it's reasonable to believe some things will always be cheap. Even the many newly retired items, that were retired to change the "subeta is flooded with unsightly cheap things" that many people complain about hasn't really changed this. Now that those items no longer vend, other items that fill the "give item of this rarity" slot in the vending machine's response are now vended and they themselves being massively created and are selling for little.

This is why it seems to me that you are seeing a specific problem, and then are choosing a general solution that will encourage more vendings, and hurting the people who restock at the shops served by those machines. It seems to me, more vendings will make more cheaper items, and will make you a little sadder? It seems to me also, this will spread misery to those restockers who didn't care one way or another about the Dragon Hoard items.

Then all of the other machines would have intense deflation of their other items. Besides, for 7 or so months out of the year, the Holiday Shop is not active, so it doesn't really matter.

I can think of a couple of different ways to fix the Vending Machines. Shining Crane would become more relevant if playing with toys counted the same as reading books to your pet or feeding them. Achievements, titles, etc. Plus it would really fit well with certain pets' stories. Toys vend at Shining Crane, and it would help inflate those items and make them more relevant.

Moving Holiday Shop to the Gravedigger Machine isn't a bad idea, since accessories and shoes already keeps the Dragons' Hoard busy with new releases. Also, decreasing blue + purple items and increasing food in the Celebration Gift would deflate food and make that machine more popular, which would make Pete's Quests easier, especially if they get revamped to no longer give out sP. I've tested it a few times, and items with blue and purple in the name vend more than half the time than any other item from that machine. Kind of annoying.

Just a few ideas, kind of off topic, but that's my two cents.

Less than right now for sure, because grayevard shop items are pretty much the only thing vending from that machine now.

Nah, I think its fine as it is. The items will eventually go up in price, as they always do and its great fragging fodder.
