For the past two months, I've been talking to this amazing girl. She currently lives in another state, so we have just been communicating many times a day via text. I have never met her, but in a month I will be moving to the same city as her, finally!

So anyway, has anyone been through something like this before? How does it go the first time you 'officially' meet? Any advice for someone's first relationship with another woman (just this past year or so I've realized I'm at least bisexual). Thanks so much in advance! She seems super awesome and I cannot wait to meet her! <3

First meeting should be in a public place where it will be less awkward meeting in person. I promise you, one on one for the first time can be...interesting. Maybe even ask to meet her friends, and hang out with the group. I myself have not been in a relationship with a girl, but my best friend has been with the same girl for 4 years. Its honestly....not one bit different from any other relationship (and they're a Thai-Chinese couple, yet still not at all different from my boyfriend and I). Its built on commitment and trust. You'll bicker and argue just like any other couple.

Maybe approach it like it's a new friendship and not worry about anything else til you see how you guys get along? If you've never met you may not know how compatible you are in the same space. Texts are one thing, real interactions are another. So figure out something you both like/ want to try for the first meeting and see how it ends up?

Thanks both of you for the advice! I'll see if we can go somewhere public for our first date. Of course, texting is really different than actually meeting and talking in person, but this is what we've got for the moment, anyway! :)

All I can offer is to have some sort of activity you can do instead of just talking, which might be kind of obvious, idk. I can't speak for everyone, but it's a lot easier for me to text or type than talk to someone face to face, especially the first time, so the one time I had a similar experience I felt totally speechless and awkward until we went to a movie. Thanks for the advice!! We are 3 weeks and counting until my move, so I will get to meet her soon! I am so so excited. I think at first maybe lunch or a walk. Maybe a movie, we shall see! Time is short between moving and starting vet school.
