How do you find inspiration for pets, that you KNOW you need to work on, but just dont for whatever reason?

I've got 5, that even though they are listed at a work in progress, they really aren't. At this point, their kinda just rotting, because either I haven't a clue what to do with them, or I do, I just can't write it.

1. Rob If it weren't for training and food eating Rob would just rot. I thought about dedicating the pet after Rob himself, but I want him to actually win spotlight. I have seriously, NO ideas for him XD

2. Zeusy Zeus is supposed to be based loosely off my nephew. I was able to finish his sister Carlee -minus tc- but with Zeus, I'm just... stuck. Carlee was simple, I wanted a teddy bear tea party, which is funny because she's a Tom Boy.... I don't even know what direction to do with Zeus though. When he was 1, it was Spongebob, 2 was Buzz Lightyear, 3 was Transformers. He's going on 4 now, and I'm just like... "Eh... the hell do I do?"

3. Piggie Oh boy, he's based on my boyfriend XD Long story there...

4. Seais Seais is supposed to be a continuation of my Wonderland pets. I know what I want to do with him, -nightmare potion- I just, dont know how to write his story. He's the darkness in Wonderland. He used to have a lover, but when she left him after years of using him, his heart grew dark and consumed him. I don't know how or where to start with his story. After Seais, I have ONE more Wonderland pet, based on the caterpillar, And I have no idea how I'm gonna work on him, when I can't even work on Seais...

5. Scruff She's based off my real life dog Jersey. That's gonna be a fun story to write, because even though I've had her for 8+ years, I haven't a clue WHAT to write about her.

You have lovely pets. :) I wish you well in figuring out what you're going to create with them. I have the same problem. I have tiny flits of imagination for mine - their stories come and go and they just have not come to fruition yet.

Omg same here! 8DD I'm having the same problem with Rinny, but thankfully I've hit inspiration while I was thinking about her character yesterday. lD The one who I have that's really just a blank right now is Chip. lD

I don't know if this'll work for you, but I try to set aside some time to just think. Maybe before you sleep? For the past two days I've been thinking about my pets non-stop, so it takes me 20 minutes to fall asleep because of all the ideas in my head. lD

Well, I'd help you with Rob, but I was never a fan of the series, so omg sorry. lD For Zeusy, I was thinking a bit about a child who acts like a god (since, you know, his name kinda looks like Zeus), but then again, this depends on your nephew's personality! I don't normally base my pets from anyone, but if I were to, I'd probably just base their personality, and come up with a whole new story to make it interesting!

I got idea's for Seais in the shower yesterday, wrote them down, and that was it XD I can't figure out how to figure him out.

With Zeus, his name is actually Jesus so Zeus/Zeusy is a nickname.

Ahh, yes, it's amazing how you can get new ideas for pets in the most unusual of times. lD If I ever finish up tidying my pets' ideas and characters and you still need help, I'll try to lend a hand and help you with your pets. c: Best of luck!

I have the same problem with most of my pets. It took me like, 2 years to actually finish writing Susurrous' story xD; I always had parts written down but I didn't feel satisfied until a couple months ago. I still feel like there's a couple issues here and there, mostly with tenses, because those can be confusing for me. But other than that, I think it looks good. Can't wait to get some art and a profile going.

Another pet I'm currently working on is Enliven, whose story is going to be based on a story I made as a kid. It's about a guy who becomes cursed by a mysterious necklace that gives him the ability to control the dead, but also steals his soul, so he becomes a zombie. As long as he keeps the necklace ON he won't look like one, but his necklace gets stolen by an evil woman. As a result, he becomes a walking skeleton and his regular life gets ruined as he has to hide out in a graveyard, away from everyone. Eventually he gets the necklace (and his life) back, hence, "Enliven." Despite the fact that I've had this story in my head for years, writing it is proving to be a bit difficult for me. Xc

Theeen there's Rebuke, who I'm not entirely what I'll do with. I wanted his story to be tragic, but also based around some of my personal feelings and experiences (although more exaggerated, to make it more interesting), but I'm not sure if I can make all I the things I want to do with him work together, or if I should get a different pet.

The rest of my pets I don't really have ideas for... Um, I guess I don't wanna go too fast with my ideas, because I can be rather indecisive and I often waste sP as a result of that. THERE IS ONE PET though that I do not yet have that I need a name for. I made Coniferous for the story but his name bothers me because it sounds like Susurrous and I hate having pets with similar names twitches SO, I've been stalking several tree-related names and I think once I get that, I'll probably finish the story before I get Enliven's story done because...I love trees (points at username) and I love the concept I've made. I think I'll hold off on saying what it is though...just because I'm paranoid and I don't want anyone with a tree-related name taking ideas :P

Those are all awesome ideas! I especially like Enlivens. I'm a sucker for zombies XD

And speaking of real life events.... If it makes you feel any better about Rebuke, check out Aeil, though that's not the profile she won with. And then with Lambi my best friend actually told me, what the Hatter tells her.

I've got an idea for 2 more pets. One who's name I'm stalking. Still trying to figure out HOW I'm even going to get it. Slots are full XD The second, is the last of my Wonderland pets. I won an art auction, and the idea popped into my head, and I sorta ran with it. Nothings been written down though, I want to finish with Seais before I even start this last one. All I got for him, is the design art.

Your pets' profiles are beautiful. I especially like Aeil's background (...did I mention I like trees? :P) although they both have lovely art and backgrounds. Decent stories too, both of them. I admit, Aeil's story actually made me kind of sad, though not that I could relate. That's a good thing :P Well done on that, and I hope your Lambi wins the spotlight as well!

And I recently cleared out my pet slots and removed like, 4 pets. I decided I was going to stick with just RWs unless I find something with the same name as one of my characters. So yeah. Feels nice to have room just in case I find that must-have pet.

Aeil's was actually the hardest story I've ever written, because your talking about going back through memories, feelings, all that crap. But also in writing it, I was able to get closure I wasn't able to get before. So it was win-win.

I've thought countless times of rehoming pets, but I've got too much of an attachment that I can't. Iv'e had Rob for like, 3 years, and he's never really been "completed" because I always end up changing him.

And don't feel bad, I tend to overuse the XD face

Oh boy. This is.. pretty much me.

• I have my ideas in order for Buddi, but I just.. the inspiration isn't there. I know that she's going to be a kappa fisherman that adeptly hides her traits with specific clothing while she can only conceal her scales and fins when she's completely dry, but.. I don't really know what to do for her story. I was thinking a "slice of life" sort of tale, maybe a day in her life or something..

• Rasida's in the same boat. I have her pretty much figured out, I actually even have a story for her, but I'm sort of at a blank when it comes to drawing or working on her profile. Ugh.

• Hoo boy, and then there's Myiliki. I've had her story and character concept pretty heavy in my mind for years, but she needs a new profile and new artwork and maybe a bit of a rewritten story a bit, and I'm just not feeling it. I still love her to pieces, though, so I know I'm keeping her.

• Patchouli needs a new profile. I do not feel like making one right now, and the person I was going to commission for it doesn't want to.

• Sariel does too. Blarglrhargh.

In general, it's just a matter of "I don't really want to make a profile, or draw pictures, even though I'm perfectly capable. If I do either of that, that means I have to spend awhile hitting CSS with a stick, and I hate that too". I'm a really lazy individual and I wish I wasn't. >:c
