  • The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. (I love the songs, used to watch it almost everyday when I was a kid.)
  • FernGully: The Last Rainforest (I saw it when I was ten and for years I didn't what movie it was until I finally found out and MAN IT'S JUST SO GOOD)
  • Who Framed Roger Rabbit (does this count? XD)
  • Sen to Chihiro no kamikakushi / Spirited Away (loved it when I was a teenager)
  • The Nightmare Before Christmas (again a teenage favourite, but I liked it mostly because my friends did - I've only recently realized how brilliant it is)
  • A Bug's Life (another film I watched a lot as a kid)
  • The Hunchback of Notre Dame (because it was the first film I saw in a movie theater! with my grandma)
  • The Fox and the Hound (TEARS)
  • The Land Before Time (MORE TEARS)

Spirited Away is an anime movie by Hayao Miyazaki, it's pretty interesting and strange... I definitely recommend it, if you haven't seen it yet. =)

Actually, you're right! I haven't read the books, but apparently Howl's Moving Castle (by Diana Jones), the book, was the inspiration for the Miyazaki movie. There are three books in the series, I think? I really should read at least the one that inspired the movie! It sounds like it'd be such a good read.
