I played the Carnival Game "Bluff" for the first time yesterday, and then again today, after reading the rules.. from what I can understand, you make bets based on the number and value of dice that you have in your hands - values are 2 - 6 and ones are wild, and will "count as whatever value you have chosen for that turn".
Now- I'm not sure if it's just me playing the game wrong, or if it's just a glitch in the game, but I'm getting frustrated either way, because I should be winning games, but I'm not. For example, from the game that I just played:
Computer placed a bid of 4 fours --- I challenged this bid. When the computer's set of dice were revealed, he had One four, one one, and two Six's, but I had lost the challenge.
So then the next round I challenge its bid of three sixes. When the computer's set of dice were revealed, it had one Six, one Four, and I think a Five.. all I remember is, it wasn't wild.
Are we supposed to be betting our own hand? Or our COMBINED hands? Or is it just glitching?
Some help explaining game mechanics would be appreciated.. If you have an answer, please Ping me, as I am logging off for the night. Thank you in advance. ❤
Both your hand and the computer's count when betting. So you probably had enough dice in your own hand (at least 2 fours/ones for the first round, 2 sixes/ones for the second) to make their bid correct.
...Are you serious? I've been playing wrong this entire time. Daaamn; no wonder I kept losing. :/
That explains why I keep losing as well. I'd already given up on it. haha.
Thanks for that explanation! xD
Haha oh noo. I'm glad I was able to help!
I tend to skim over instructions so I had the hardest time figuring it out...I found out when I saw someone else's question answered. My problem was not knowing that ones counted as "wild". XD It was so frustrating!
THANK YOU for explaining that to me ❤ I guess I could have guessed from the way they played in POTC, but I didn't think of it until later. At least now I know, and I can strategize better.
And oh my god, I am so glad I wasn't the only one having such a hard time with this.. D; I felt pretty retarded for asking.. but I'm glad I did.
