Can I write a topic about myself? I wonder. I've been told that the following is easy; that coding is easy, adding or subtracting items to my profile or my posts is easy - It isn't so.
I look at all the art and all the graphics and all the code behind it, and I want to cry. I read the how to code pages here and other sites and no matter how often I read them and I read them often - NOTHING SINKS IN! WHY? Am I so intellectually defective that even the most basic stuff doesn't sink in - I give in. I cant draw, cant code, can't even do the most basic things like add images to my posts or credit the wonderful for her work on my profile page or for the rose she drew just for me. I don't know how to do anything. I feel overwhelmed, exhausted and my brain refuses to do anything - I can't even type a rant without screwing it up and having to run a spell check over basic words. I feel pointless. And I know that this topic is pointless and it will go unread, as it deserves to be. And if someone should comment, just be honest and tell me to go cry else where or to stop whining. It's probably the only advice I am able to understand - all else is a waste of kind words and good intentions.

It is a learning process and anyone who goes "oh, it is easy peasy no worry" forgot what a pain in the backside it was to learn the first time through. Though, I am sure I have erred in that direction before XD I suck at it, but I can do a bit, having at one time been fairly handy at html and by trial and error until something works- and then I don't change the base code EVER. ever. Been cut/pasting and tinkering with the same base I made eons ago, just adding as things are needed to add, and only after a TON of trial and error. I haz to skip to bed but I wanted to glomp you and snuggle. Miss you sweetie!

Don't despair. I know what it feels like to bang yourself against something for what seems like forever and still not make any headway. Sometimes it's just a matter of being tired or not in the proper mood to understand something. And coding is really tough if you have no background in it whatsoever -- sometimes, it's like learning another language (and most people would agree that by itself is not easy!)

what clocks said exactly, it IS learning another language and what is worse, it ain't even a human language. And don't worry bout pinging me darlin, you can ping me anytime waggles brows

Thanks for the kindness, and yes I get an odd form of SAD in that it happens in the summer I won't perk up until Autumn. And, I never thought of coding as another language just as an extension of maths and I am not that good with math. You are kindness personified. And if I haven't said this before, Thank you. BTW is the snow diving kitty of your own making? I love it! :) Well I was a gymnast when I was younger (before my back went) so the winter Olympics is just a pretty spectacle to me. I only really like the skating and the gymnastic ski jumping event - if that had been around when I was younger I would have so gotten into it. But, snow is a rare thing where I live so it never occurred to me it was possible to do it.

Coding is hard as balls. That might not be a good comparison. Coding is hard. It's especially hard when a site (like here in Subeta) has it's own set of code standards. Because you're not just wrestling with the ever changing coding changes of the rest of the internet, you are also battling that AND rules, restrictions and my personal least favorite thing of all fucking time, (pardon my french) COLUMNS.

It's a freaking miracle anyone on this site has good looking lookups. xD
