Every single mother-youknowwhat-ing Saturday I sit here at work at the paper and the first thing I hear is the police scanner going off. Apparently on tap this particular Saturday is a standoff with the swat team and an unknown gunman across town. They ordered everybody to stay in their homes and a coworker just talked to a buddy that lives over there who said he had police in his house, using it as a lookout. Then the police come over the radio with a call that there's a rollover accident a little ways away from work that struck a gas main. How the hell did they manage that?! Our gas lines are underground! I guess they hit a maintenance valve or something. And as I was typing that, there was another accident in the next town over and they're shutting down streets for that too. Every damn Saturday, we get shit like this. It's like everyone loses their damn mind over the weekend. Wth is wrong with these people?! It's not like this is a huge town...people are generally good here, but damn...it's like Saturday rolls around and everyone loses their damn minds.
Do people do shit like this where you live? Does stuff seem to happen like this all the time? Is this town going to blow up with me in it?! T_T
- Whoa, what the hell man, your weekend :D
Around here, we have a fire whistle, when it goes off, nine times out of ten it's a car wreck and not, you know, an actual fire.... My sister's husband is on the fire dept and they get paged before the fire whistle goes off. It also goes off on the first Wednesday of the month at noon. I heard it last night but I was too tired to find out what it was. Fortunately, we don't have it blaring every weekend, so yay ?
Things will smooth out, now. Mercury is direct and Mars wants to go go go in Aries.
collecting Where I am everyone forgets how to drive during the first snowfall of winter. You'd think for people living in Michigan they'd know how to deal with it. Same goes for the first rainfall, or if there has been a period of warm weather in winter and then it starts snowing lightly again. And apparently an extremely thin layer of snow also makes people forget how to park. I was at the mall last month and there were cars parked in the aisles and trapping other cars in parking spaces. It was even worse because they could have SEEN THE LINES through the snow. It was just plain ridiculous. I'm glad we only have to deal with awful driving and parking and not what happens every weekend for you.
Exactly! I don't understand why they lose their driving abilities during winter. It makes me a lot more nervous to start driving, because eventually I'll have to be driving WITH those people on the road. Just yahfjfudh ugh Michigan drivers make no sense at all.
