So there's this guy. Duh. There always is.

I think he likes me. I think he's making it obvious. BUT, he is a really affectionate guy(were talking hugs on command, dude) and so am I (I do the same thing. XD). My parent's seem to doubt me(both teach at my school) and think that poor...I'll call him Bandanaman, an inside joke. They think poor Bandanaman is gay. I highly doubt this, but I'm not gonna argue with them.... Anyhow. I stated that we're both huggy, but right now he's been going through this whole depressy break-up thing, because his old girlfriend made him hate her and then moved. So. I've been giving him hugs like daily, and today he caught me afterlunch at my locker and is like, 'Hug?' So I gave him a normal hug, and let go. I'm left standing there while he hugs me. "longer hug." he says "Come on, man....." I say I hug him a little while longer. "Come on, longer hug." then he lets go. We've been standing there like 30 seconds hugging; you'd think we were a soldier and his wife. I'm not mad in the least. I like Bandanaman. He's funny, and while he's not cute, I don't care. I like guys for personality. Looks are just a plus. However, this was like, a super long hug. I don't know, I could be misunderstanding, but I think he likes me. (I have further evidence, such as how he's sure to laugh at my jokes and pushed around my friend to get to me,smiling and laughing at me the whole time.... this is just the biggest and most recent) Any opinions? I can't say I'm experienced with dating....I've had all of one boyfriend ,if you could call it that, and I'm a freshman. But when I picture perfect couple I see me and him in front of a nice house, ten years from now, hugging like we did in the damned hallway. (Swear to god it was a couple-hug, heads on shoulders, arms pushing us together) I'm not stupid, I'm not gonna give anything away easily(like my teacher parents would let me) but me and the guy get along really well, and that hug was longer than he gave any of his girlfriends..... I could just be the most huggy person he could find. I'm so confused, somebody help....

Sorry that was so long. ^^ I feel stupid now.And I'm sick of the word 'hug'. I'm a pathetic mess, so some help would be great. ^^

Well, I can't really say how he feels. You should ask. Maybe not now, though. That would seem insensitive. I have a feeling that now that he'd single, maybe if you wait a while he'll come to you. If not, ask him.

It does seem like he does like you, but to what extent, I'm not sure. I need a few questions answered first:

How long have you known each other? and How old are you two?

Freshmen in High School, and since like, third grade. I don't know if I said it before, but I've liked him off and on, and he's done stuff like this before but not quite the same, he like, wouldn't let me go. XD

Hm.... It does seem like he does, but I know not of what the norm is for you two. If he is acting strangely like you say he is, then, probably yes.

aw to teh big hug 83 before i started dating noah, he would always ask for hugs and after we hugged he would be like 'yes!' type of thing that really pissed me off. i remember the day before he asked me out he asked for a hug and we stod there for atleast 3 minutes hugging. it's like he was clung to me! XD but aout you and bananaman, I think he does like you, but is probably afraid it might ruin your friendship so he is seeing if you like him back before he makes up his mind about asking you out. and plus, he just got dumped and doesn't want to be back down probably. thats just my guess. i hope i helped. and like the others have said, just give him time and he'll come around if he does like you.

He might've just been more depressed than usual, and he needed your hugged expertise. I have a guy friend that sometimes needs hugs, (just cause ;)), and i know that neither of us like each other. It's just a thing that cheers him up I guess. (if you call squeezing me to death cheery glare)

He quite possibly could... on the other hand, he could've just been looking for a shoulder to lean on if he's going through a tough time. You can't know for sure unless you ask him yourself (since he doesn't seem to be coming out and telling you anything) so that's probably the best thing you could do at this point. Let him know how you feel and ask him if he feels the same way. If he just got out of an iffy relationship, though, you might not want to push it too far... if he seems uncomfortable with the idea of other girls at the moment, then back off and let him recover before you take it any further. If he doesn't like you, then things can go on as usual. =P No big deal.
