I was wondering if it's worth it spending so much sP on the Omen Islands map. Do I miss out on anything cool if I don't get it?

Kind of depends on your 'Cool', I guess. I got it back when it was super cheap when I was new, but in that time I've basically never used the Ocean Depths vending machine, done Drunk Carl quests, or...really much of anything else out there.

I don't know what he's supposed to give out, but I did a few weekend quests of his and would generally get asked for a 20k item, then get back about 3k-5k and a rare item, but in the cases of me trying, all those items were pretty cheap, too. I do know there's an achievement for finishing a Carl quest while he's sleeping, though, so...that's kinda cool, if you dig achievements.

: I do like achievements, but paying I don't know how many sP just for an achievement seems kind of silly (but maybe that's just me)....ponders Well, don't know if it's worth it xD

I hear you on the wasted sP - I mean, I paid something like 26 million on the K sticker way back in the day just so I could have the full alphabet, but if I recall, Omen Islands is far and above that now, PLUS who knows how long it'd be to actually get him sleeping?

I do hope maybe somebody who actually utilizes that part of the site could come along, I'm completely sure I'm unaware of something that might potentially be awesome and I'd hate to make you think it was a complete downer, but just...I just...personally, it hasn't struck me as interesting ;)

Well I visit the Galley all the time and collect the foods it gives me to use with the Drunk Carl quests for weekend quests and achievements. If you are working on the full wardrobe achievement the Ocean's Depth vending machine is the greatest at giving clothes and it goes to a higher rarity than most other machines.

But I didn't pay much for the map. It was the first map I collected and I got almost every piece through random events (I think I bought the last one or two).

Easy access to Hydrus pet colors could be considered awesome but other than that nothing special.

Well, for what it's worth if I were in your position today I wouldn't get it. I pieced it together years ago when it was still pretty cheap, so it didn't matter much. If the idea of not being able to access a part of the site doesn't bother you just ignore it.
