I just thought it'd be interesting to know the inspiration of other people. :D

For me, I am very much involved in nature and emotions (sort of Romantic). So, God, the stars, the sky and the sea inspire me well. My emotions do so, too. Well, they do for everyone. XD

I also love colors! Almost every time I READ a new/unique color name, I just get the urge to put it in a poem or something.

Current events also inspire me. I'm in training for the school paper, so I see news weekly. They keep my writing passion burning.

Okaaay, that's about it. So, what inspires you the most? :)

Scenery/ambiance. And by that, I mean usually when I'm walking outside, alone, and I just happen to look out across a field or into someone's yard, and see a marvelous display of nature/city life/scenery, it somehow shakes my muse into a writing mood. The world makes me feel so small sometimes, and in reality I am, and its a very meditative experience, to say the least.

I usually end up 'writing' a poem on the spot, in my mind, that I rarely put to paper... by the time I get home, the scene and mood have passed and I'm whole once more.

Its an odd experience, that's for sure. Probably the closest thing to a religious feeling I'll ever get, haa. ;p

Amazing. Sceneries inspire me too, but most of the time, when I'm on a vehicle my mind just goes somewhere. XD Although, I have to agree though with the walking thing, even if I barely do it because I stay home. It's healthy, so my mind becomes fresh and I pick some inspiration and new things along the way.

True! Most of the words never get into paper. But the feeling of creating something is great/fantastic/whatever. :D

It really is.

Actually, I just made a poem after making that post, haa. So I suppose thinking about poetry can spur my muse too, I guess. ;p

[edit]HA, this post gave me my first raffle ticket. Aww. <3

Do you post your works somewhere? :D

Seeing awesome works by others makes me want to write too. My inspirations aren't limited to the first post after all. Haha.

[edit]Congratulations! :)

I'm very inspired by what motivates people - the reasons behind what they do. I love to explore the building of a character, though I suppose the word 'building' is a bit ironic, because I have a perverse enjoyment in tearing a character apart piece by piece, just to see how they 'work'. I have issues with socializing, so I suppose this is my way of 'getting to know' and 'understanding' people; I have an addiction to that softore psychological sort of thing.

Like you, , I also find inspiration in God, which again ties into my fixation with motivations, etc. It helps me maintain my own religious connections, if nothing else. I have to say, it's very refreshing to see somebody else say that sort of thing! c:

I have mine too, but I left it. I made my first poems there, and they were the lame, elementary level sort of stuff. XD I love your works, short but true! Not a piece of crap. ❤

I do the same with understanding people. You can't just tell something about a person by looking at him/her as a whole. I'm glad I'm not alone. :D

@ Ariemerus

I might get random ideas for settings from scenery, but random, repetitive tasks that involve very little brain power is where most of my characters/story ideas are born. I might start nitpicking at some idea I've once found done poorly and go all 'okay, but let's say there is...' (I'm glaring at at least two of my pets on here now) Also walks through the city, public transport... basically any task where my mind is allowed to wander can, kid you not, hatch a universe.

Of course coming up with it and getting started on writing it down is another story... XD

How true is that. XD

Indeed so. (: Whenever I'm bored, I'll watch someone for a little while and find something about them that interests me. A particular hand movement, the tone of their voice, the way they stand, etc, etc, and I'll use that as a jumping off point to describe a particular aspect of a personality trait or what have you. I have whole notebooks filled with little nonsensical blurbs that I'll often stitch together to create characters. I don't know, I find it amusing, anyway. c:

My emotions most of all. I use my writing as a way to get out all my emotions haha. xD My poetry tends to be depressing, but it helps me so that's good ^___^

As for actual writing, I think it's my emotions too, I don't really know haha. I just enjoy writing, so I do it. @ Wow that sounds really lame but that's what it is.

When it comes to writing a number of things can inspire me though they don't always work 100% it's more of a hit and miss. Usually it depends on my mood, if I'm in a very good moos I may write more, if I'm depressed hell I'll write a lot. Music also inspires though lately it's, again, hit and miss. What also inspires me is just chatting with people, if I end up having a good conversation with a friend chances are I'll have this strong urge to write, which 9 times out of 10 I usually complete the (mostly short stories) thing I'm working on.

For me, it can be a lot of things. A imagined fight scene between two people. A single image, thought, or scene that pops into my head. Just my mind attempting to be overally dramatic, and then stumbling upon something that actually gets me excited can be all it takes. It helps if it's night time when these thoughts occur, because I tend to lose interest in things very quickly and do better if I start on writing right away.
