After two years, I am now a working woman! I start my new job tomorrow. =) I am SO excited. Not excited about working while being in so much pain (wet fire escapes are not fun), but I'm stoked!

Ooh, and I totally just left out the part about where I finally have my own apartment, and my ex wants me to have primary custody of our son. =D
Oh wow, it sounds like a lot of really great things are coming all at once. Congrats! Enjoy all the goodness while it's here! :)
It's about time things start looking up. The whole issue with my son is going in my favor anyway because they say his father wants nothing to do with him and with his habits and being homeless, they pretty much said he's not getting custody. The apartment thing happened literally overnight. And the job is only seasonal, but it's full time, and it's at a busy amusement park doing what I'm used to doing most (running cash register), so everything's working out great so far.
congrats c: glad things are looking up for you now.

Whoa, that's a ton of good news. Congrats on everything! A seasonal job beats no job, right? (Mine is for the most part seasonal too, but there are a few sporadic events throughout the remaining seasons).
Though, I'd like to say major gratz for your son! That is super awesome news especially, because I remember you bringing that up months ago. Happy day for you!
- Oh I am SO GLAD down to my core to hear all this good news, I so am. I have been wondering how things have been working out for you and the little guy, so hearing this was a wonderful surprise :) I'm so happy :) Good luck w/ the job and enjoy the new apartment and things finally starting to stabilize and look up :) :)

Good to see that things are looking up.
Good luck with the new job and yay to getting a new apartment.
This is the first job I've had in almost two years. It's working in the gift shop(s) at the local amusement park, and I'm used to dealing with point of sale registers, handling cash, keeping an eye out for shoplifters, etc. But it's gonna be different because it's gonna be so much busier than the last jobs I've held...even busier than working Christmastime at the dollar store, lol. As for AJ, the caseworker has to come inspect the apartment to see if it's suitable for a child. So far, I've got outlet covers, but we still need baby gates, cupboard locks, etc, and I'm debating on putting a crib back up since he's not walking yet (but he may try to climb out), or getting him a toddler bed with those nifty side rails. The August thing is a three month review of the case, to see how things are holding up and if I have a stable home/job. He may have gotten to come home on the 2nd, but we didn't find our own home in time... I'm hoping they let him come home early, though...I miss him.
Thank you. I've made a complete turn around from how I used to be, and it feels great to be back on my own two feet.
Thank you. Not sure how much different working in a gift shop is than working in a regular retail store, but I'm sure it won't be too much different. I love this apartment, except for it being on the third floor, we're not allowed a washer, dryer, or dishwasher, or pets. =(
It may be busier, but on a positive side, at least the time will go by faster during work hours. And I wish you good luck with everything!
Today was one of the busiest days of the season. I worked nine hours. The closing time of "8ish" turned into 9ish. I got to sit maybe ten minutes at the most during my whopping two fifteen minute breaks. My leg and back hurt so bad that I came home and bawled.
I get to do it all again later today. Noon until "7ish".
I'm gonna go die now.
Congratulations! I hope things continue to keep looking up for you
Summer is always the busiest time of the year for amusement parks. I'm guessing it should start falling back down during the fall though since most of the tourism happens during the spring and summer.
