So recently my laptop has been, well, not behaving as good as it i supposed too. Granted its about 4 years old, but I got the system board and monitor replaced last May.

Anywho, I've decided to compile a list of sites with FREE downloads and information to help keep your computer clean :)

Feel free to post info, sites, programs, or other tips!

Helpful Sites Process Library- Use this site to search for processes that are running on your computer. It will tell you what each one does, harmful AND helpful.

FileHippo- For all your computer needs! Everything from file sharing to compression and backup. Srsly.

Programs Spybot- SEARCH AND DESTROOOYYYYY. Great anti-spyware program.

Malware Bytes- Helps remove malicious software

Ad-Aware- Do NOT confuse with Adware. This program is easy, quick and very effective.

McAfee- Anti-virus, along with many other helpful tools to protect your computer.

AVG- Another great anti-virus/anti-spyware.

Trojan-Remover- Pretty self explanitory ;)

Tips Defrag- Learn about defragging your computer!

How To Defrag- All the steps you need to defrag your comp.

Cache and Cookies- How and why you need to clear them.

Well, some people don't use Windows:

website: Apple support Basic support for Macintoshes and Apple products.

Application: Stuffit Expander Allows access to multiple types of compressed files on the Mac.

I think Stuffit Expander is also available for windows. Here

Wow, that's a really good idea. :) I'll bookmark this Tpoic now - just in case I could need some more help. :D

I'd also suggest something...but I'm a dork when it comes to computers. I wonder how mine could survive over 1 year now. xD

Spybot is my hero (along with my boyfriend, lol, he's my go-to man for computer problems). But yeah, Spybot like.. has definitely helped a LOT when I've had virus issues. Great list, btw ;D

Auslogics disk de-frag works great for me, It's better than the standard de-fragmenter (Sp?) on my computer.
