I was sending out some gifties to a friend of mine who's birthday is today, and I got to thinkin.... During holidays, birthdays and just because days, it would be nice to have the following to help the flow of gifts not get caught up in gift giving traveling congestion...

 1. Label the gifts with the user's name on it, this way we won't get confused as to whom the present is from, nor which one of the presents from that user (if that user sent more than one gift on same day, or same week... I'll get to that one in a minute) forgot, it already does this....

 2. To be able to see if they are a "birthday gift" or a "Lumenieve gift" or a "New Years day gift" or a .... so on and so on. DONE

 3. Be able to number the gifts in an order so that say, you have a cute poem you are typing in the message field, but you are breaking the poem up apart into 'parts' to put in the description of the other birthday or lumenieve or any other gifts (multiple gifts) you are sending to one person. So they open the gifts according to numbers, like Gift Gift Gift ... etc. Granted they do come in an 'order' but some tend to open in any way they want... but if we want the gifts to be opened synchronized, like I suggested above, then numbering or somehow indicate on the gift outside of opening it that this gift should be opened last, or second or third etc....

 4. Something cute feature: A list of funny names or quotes to put in the "name" section if you don't wanna reveal a name but yet don't wanna send completely private. Like say you wanna send an easter present, and you wanna say it's from the "easter bunny" or same with Lumenieve - from "melody" or "secret santa" --- instead of saying who's it from in the message section ... etc

5.This may seem frivolous, save the message and who's it from in an archive type function so you can remember who that particular present came from so you can thank them later if you don't have time to at that moment, or get bombarded with presents and lose track of which present came from whomever. Not just to have so you can read it again and again, more for keeping track in the event you need to reference it later for more serious reasons than just to have to remember later. ANd perhaps give these saved archived message expire after 30 days. Or something like that. Enough time to make sure you do what you wish with that particular gift's message or whom it's from so you can do proper thanks, or post in the bragging forum that this person sent you more than one gift, etc. DONE

I think this is a good start. If I think of any more, I'll come and post again what my next suggestion for this suggestion is.

What do you all think?

well, it's been a slice. I'm outta here. I'm done here and I need to move on to other things. I've grown weary of forum bullies and just don't have the energy for them anymore. I am praying for my friends here, as well as the bullies... everyone needs prayer...
As for my friends, I love you immensely and you are always in my heart and in my soul. God bless each of you and I pray He blesses each of you greatly.

You mean like an archive sorting function? That would be cool.

I'd like to see a way to take gifts out of the archive, too, I don't know that I really want old gift information hanging around for ever.

Oh sure! The ability to delete, or store, or keep in the 30 day que, kind of like how the smail function..... almost exactly how the smail features function.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking of, that same kind of functionality. Or at the very least, something like you said, where we could plug in a tag or identifier and be able to sort that way, maybe. But the sMail format might be easier to code, I don't know.

Hm.

About , I often do that, but I typically type it all up, get all the messages ready and send them in order at about the same time. Like this, if the person opens them in the order they were received (right to left on the gift page), the message will read correctly. I can see how this could be a bit of a hassle if the person is getting bombarded by different senders simultaneously (on a birthday, for example) but it's not such a big issue for me. Especially now that we have the GC special gift page, so it'll always show gifts chronologically instead of "grouping" them by box types...

I guess some sort of feature that allows users to send 2 or 3 gifts (maybe even more?) at once from the same page, marking them as "grouped" could help. Somehow I think the coding for that would be harder to implement... but I have no idea.

I'm however very in favor of , in a different way. I don't mind/need labels, as I think it could get too messy, but since we now have the awesome gift page, it would be lovely if the sender's name didn't show up on the sidebar event! This would be very helpful to keep the surprise and since messages don't "get lost" anymore there wouldn't be an issue with not being able to say thanks. c:

If possible at all, I think it'd be nice if the sender name wouldn't show up on the gift page until the gift is open xD As in, when you go to your gift page, you only see the pack with the "open" button under it, then you click to open it and you see the message + sender's name. After that, whenever you return to the main gift page, the sender's name would show up under the gifts (like it is now) -- but only under the ones that were open.(Sometimes I do send gifts "anonymous" and "sign" the gift inside the message, but this makes things hard to track if the recipient is ever looking back at their gifts trying to find an specific message of mine :c )

I don't really see because we're already able to go back to old gifts and look at messages again, regardless of the date it was sent (at least for the moment). I'd personally love it if our gifts were stored there forever, but maybe it could be nice to have some sort of search feature to allow users to search by username. Like this, for example, a friend of mine could see all the gifts I ever sent them, sorted by chronological order. Sounds useful for the future!

"Edit" just to say I finished typing this before reloading the page, haha.

What I would love to see on the gift page, more than anything, is either the mouse over to work on the gifts, or the name in text under them. If I go back later, I usually don't know the name of the item just from looking at it.

WIth , I totally agree with you. However I see a LOT of coding and re coding by the programmer gods here, and they probably wouldn't be too keen on a gift giving archive. Lots of storage space this would require for every user to use to their advantage. SO this is why I am giving a 30 day storage unless they create a sub-folder like in smail I have one called "Important Information" and this is where I store all the profile and overlay coding I bought, important messages, and cash shop coupon codes. But the rest, I just delete. So in order to keep a hold on those gifts that need remembrance, store in a 'created' folder like this, or if the programmers would make a 'storage' folder already and we can just save the important gifts in there.

So the staff would have three or four set folders: General Folder (will be deleted in 30 calendar days) Saved Folder - for remembrance and special things that must need be saved Deleted Folder room for ONE user created folder.

Yeah, I imagine that wouldn't be too practical... I mean it would be nice to have a search-by-username feature on the (received) gifts page itself, and then maybe we could get the ability to "tag" gifts with one or two words so we could search-by-tag too. I don't really think a new folder or new area is needed at all! The gifts are already all stored there with their respective messages, it'd feel silly to store them "again" in some other page :x

agree with your last comment. Second folders that pretty much do the same thing - yah, we can eliminate that one. I was just thinking on a larger scale that if in the event that a user would like to create a special folder for their reference - such as 'secret santa gifts' or 'birthday gifts for 2014, or 2015, 2016...' or things like that.

Aah yeah, I see. Different 'pages' inside the received gifts area where you could sort / organize your received gifts by theme, kind of like sections in wishlists or categories on vaults... I'm not sure if it would be easy to do but it would be interesting! If it happens I'd just want to have a search feature that searches all gifts then, like the vault does - I'm terrible remembering where I put things, lol x_x

ditto. We're definitely on the same page here. I don't wanna put too much on the programmer's plates with these kinds of features, because they already give us enough room to play with in smails and shops/galleries and item vaults. We are given a lot more than we realize and I hate it when I hear people complain that there isn't enough options or room to move about on the site because the staff has given us AMPLE room to use this site to our advantage (not talking about trolling, game cheating, constant refresh like holding down the F5 key for floating items to be added to your inventory...) I guess that's why the staff made the floating event items 'clickable' instead of auto added to your inventory. Makes sense. Stops the cheaters and the site screw upp'ers who ruin the fun out of everything for everyone else. So yah, we do get plenty of stuff to do on this site, and things to customize to our likings as well. But with gift giving, there are a few things that can be fiddled with to make it more fun and adjustable to the user's likings. I'd like it if I could store birthday or christmas or halloween or easter or new years or any other important holiday related gifts in a self created archive, or an archive folder automatically created for us, but we wouldn't be able to save ALL gift info... so I would say put a limit in the amount of gift items you can save in your archive folder, like a certain amount of space given for saved archived items... like with smail - you can store up to a certain amount of smails until your inbox becomes 'full'

Ah I'm definitely happy with all the customization options we get, and even more with the revamps that are coming! (: As of now, the "main" gift page stores the gift data indefinitely, so maybe "forever" would be an option (since gifts aren't really a way of communicating regularly and thus aren't as abundant as smail). Still I can see how searching and/or sorting would be helpful once that page gets absolutely cluttered I know I contribute regularly to cluttering people's gift pages haha

ahaha! me too! Once I get an idea going, I'll send a message, then I'll go AH one more thing! then send another message, and then repeat this until I run out of the subject and any branches from that subject runs out of ideas. I can get chaotic when it comes to brainstorming!! AAAH!!! crash! Blow Up! Burn Burn Burn!

This is true, it wouldn't be a massive amount of storage data for the programmers to have to code, because they're more simple than a ton of text from an smail that's five to ten inches in height. And the text itself... what is being said, and the other smail that corresponds with that smail you've sent out... LOTS of data coding for storage. FEH! You'd either have to absolutely love coding in order to prevent yourself from going mad, or you end up going mad because you've learned to HATE coding! I think it's a mixed bag, sort of a bittersweet symphony or a love/hate relationship. But something small as the gift giving and gift giving in a certain sequence or whom it came from, reasons to store the gift information...
