ok so admittedly this may just be me being stupid but i reached one of the "save points" in the maze only in reaching it i took a wrong turn. to leave the save point my only option is to go right. after that my only option is to go left, taking me back where i was. using the turn around option also doesnt work. how the hell do i fix this?
That happened to me it was really annoying.. basically I kept clicking until different options eventually appeared and .. I eventually got out of it. No idea how.. just kept clicking directions until I didn't see the damn save point place :(
oh gee that sounds like fun haha thanks for the help! i am literally just going in fucking circles
Yeah it was a barrel full of laughs! Eventually I got other options so.. yeah. hah.
Going right and then left (or vice versa) isn't taking you back down the same path! Think of it this way, let's say you're facing north, and then you turn to your right and take a step. You are now facing east. Turn to your left and take another step. You are now facing north again, but are now a step forward and to the right of your original position. That make sense?
Make a map of it. You have to understand that if those are your options :
(1.1) <- (Left) (Right) ->
Let's say you pick right, and meet a grid. When you turn back you get this :
(1.2) (Straight) (Back)
what was the left option in (1.1) is now called "Straight" and what was the right option is now called "Turn around" (because that's where you come from).
A.k.a you're not always headed north, if you turn left, you'll be headed west, if you turn left again after that, you'll be headed south, and if you turn back it will be the other way around.
It's DIFFERENT from something like (1.3) [1][2][3] [4][5][6] [7][8][9]
where you'd always be headed north, which means that if you are on [5] and go left, you're on [4], and if after that you go right, then you're back on [5]. That's not how it works.

not really :( im awful with directions and maps i really cant get unstuck though, its very frustrating.
i made a map but then i got stuck. i'll keep trying though
if you believe you are going around in circles once you reach a page you have been before just use the 'go back and turn around a couple of times' and see where you land :)
That's dumb ! Let's take this example again. If this is your maze :
[1][2][3] [4][5][6] [7][8][9]
You start on [5], then go straight, you end up on [2]. If you go back, you'll go back to [5]. If you go back, you'll go back to [2]. If you go back, you'll go back to [5] If you go back, you'll go back to [2]. If you go back, you'll go back to [5] If you go back, you'll go back to [2]. If you go back, you'll go back to [5].
NOW you're litterally doing circles.

Just to give hope, to those that are stuck in the maze.... it took my over 8 hours to get through it. but I finally did! i started out, just making a list of L(eft), R(ight), S(traight), and when I came to turns/choices, which way i went, etc.
then i made my adult children, (who is visiting this weekend), to dig through their rooms, and fine me some graph paper (this is after they had been party-ing) BUT! They Came Up With It! /such GOOD Children/ =D and I used (front AND BACK) of 2 graph papers, finally giving up, and just clicking right, when ever i could, otherwise, i followed directions, when it came to a Straight-Left decision, I usually went straight, then Right whenever it said right (no matter options)... Passed the Maintenance room, about 50 times (at least) and FINALLY Made it to the Cistern!! OMG!
I almost read a book, while i clicked.
But I MADE IT! So YOU Can Too!
(and i even kept my phone on, to the twitter post, on "how to do it on graph paper" and Still was to idiotic to understand the square by square graph concept, which is, "this is for friggin' easy to understand, How Can You NOT?")
:)
ok re-reading your posts it makes a bit more sense to me now. back to the maze!
haha i made all my roommates search for some graph paper. i have 4 roommates, i knew at least one of them would have to have some (they did)
If you map it, you can't really go wrong for very long. Because you know where you've been, where you are, and what your un visited choices are. But you MUST turn the map as you draw because you're not always headed north (A.k.a facing the "top" of the maze).
If it helps, stand up in the middle of your room, and turn left. Do you realise that what was to your right when you stood up, is not to your right anymore ?

the thing is i got to a circle , back tracked and lo behold there was a room with 3 directions there , got the key in the next click :)
that means the room you were in before also had 3 directions.

, lol, well, i know that , (and everyone) says how easy it is, using the graph paper (and yes, do make sure that you're turning the paper, so that you're facing "forward", no matter which direction, you're turning) my problem with that was, when i had to turn around, and i got lost, or where i was going, i'd re-trace my steps (or i thought i was) and hit a grate, when i had Just Been There, and there was no grate then!
any way. I"m SO thankful that, THAT part is over with! (liked playing cards, though, love the new background)
GOOD LUCK to you!
Pffffff, I just used the 'hand on the left wall' method, ultimately, after failing to realize that the 'go back' didn't take me BACK back, as to the beginning xD
That's how you can get through mazes IRL without getting lost, so I guess it worked out pretty well. Only about 15 minutes of clicking once I got back to the beginning.
Side note, if you hover over the Turn Left (etc) links, at the end of the URL will be a letter. That letter corresponds to the cardinal direction you would be going if you went that way, aka north, south, east, or west. From there, I just mapped it out in Paint XD
