These types of stories make me rage so much, i can't help but wonder...how many people are harvested for their organs?

I believe it even though it has all the makings of an urban legend. Shady shit is going down in India when it comes to women and I fully believe this girls organs may have been harvested because they don't see women as people but objects. However I think it's completely insane to suggest she was murdered for her organs. That's stupid, that didn't happen. Harvesting them after her death though, yeah I can easily buy that happening.

Really sad... but on the other hand, if I were dead I'd have no use of them... -shrugs- But that's just my personal belief, I can understand why that would be extremely alarming to some people. I'd more have a problem with people making money off of my organs than them being harvested...

I am rather skeptical about the organ theft .
I'm a bit skeptical as well, it's not like you can just kill someone and harvest their organs and it'd have to be a pretty complicated scheme in order for it work because organs have to be kept under certain temperatures, matched up with a potential donor, etc..etc.. in order to be harvested in the first place and still be viable enough for someone else.
It just seems like such a scheme would be entirely too complicated to have been carried out in such a short time because they'd have to know beforehand that she was going to enter the hospital, have her tested against someone else and then deliberately kill her with the intention of harvesting her organs.
That said, taking out her organs after her death with the intention of using them, not as far-fetched seeing as how that could easily be done in the interim between India and the time that it would take to ship the body back to the UK.
That said, tragic as it is, I admit, the girl is dead and her organs are no longer of any use technically to her, still tragic, but at the same time, the girl is already dead though...
If they weren't harvested for selling, perhaps they were removed so that the cause of death would be unknown or harder to determine? Even if organ donation was compulsory or permitted in this case, the state would own the corpse. So as she's a UK citizen it wold be organ theft anyway :P

It's one thing to harvest organs post mortem, that's one thing, but it's a whole other thing to purposely kill a little girl to harvest said organs. If it was for further investigation, then fine, but they should have heard something by now if that had been the case. Nothing of this is okay. I feel so bad for her family!
This needs investigating. While its normal to remove organs during an autopsy, they are usually returned to the body cavity afterward. If they need to be retained for further study the family should be informed of this. One problem is that laws about autopsy and consent vary from country to country and I have no idea what India's laws are. But if they routinely removed and retained organs, and the UK routinely performs autopsies on people who died outside the country, then they would have discovered this sooner (with other people).
It sounds to me like there may be some attempt at covering up medical errors on the girl.
