Random fear, lol.
I was just brushing my hair, and the bathroom light flickered. No problem. Go into my bedroom, notice it's darker than usual. The street light is out. Go out front, it's glowing blue, and making buzzing noises (arcing). It flashed white a couple times, and now it's back on.
The only thing I'm worried about is it blowing up and catching fire (stupid fear, I know). It's directly outside of mine and my son's bedroom window and VERY close to the house.
Should I just shrug it off or call PPL just in case?
- It's probably just burning out, you shouldn't need to worry. And if it does explode, chances are it'll fizzle out before it comes near your house. I've seen street lights do that, and that's all it was, burning out.
collecting It's just burning out. You could just call the city to get it replaced though. City safety stuff.
I second everything said. If you are really concerned about it, keep an eye on it. It;s most likely just burning out and shouldn't cause any problems.
There haven't been any more issues with it. Not sure what was going on that night.
