The other day, I noticed my fridge wasn't as cold as it should be. I looked through the owner's manual to figure out what could be wrong, but no dice. I had to call the repair service.

A guy comes out, says that nothing is actually wrong with the fridge, just that someone accidentally bumped the front display and caused it to turn off the fridge and lock, so that nothing was cooling. The kicker? The owner's manual didn't include anything about how to fix this because they decided that it would be too 'technical.' The service man showed me how to fix it though, and I thought everything was good.

Tonight, I open the fridge and notice, oh hey, it smells like something is burning. Burning and refrigerators don't exactly go together. I look up at the light bulbs inside the fridge and notice that oh fuck, the bulbs are really fucking hot, so much so that they are burning the fucking holder and melting it.

I am at my rope's end and want to yell and curse and possibly break stuff. And the earliest they can come out to fix this is 8-12AM tomorrow.

Fuck my fucking life.

No fanks to moldy fridge. :c Not big on creeping lifeforms that smell weird, your gran can keep it.

The light won't turn off when I close it, not even when I press that little button thing inside myself... although I can't see why it would work for me when it doesn't work when the door hits it. It's just a whole mass of stupid that I don't want to deal with right now, ugh.

I unplugged the fridge and am waiting for the bulb to cool, I tried to take it out with an oven mitt and still burned my fingers, it was so hot. :|

I'd definitely take the lightbulb out once it cools. This actually happened a couple years ago with my refrigerator, and to this day I still have the lightbulb out of it. I'm too lazy to call the company and have them come fix it.

aw dang :c

thankfully you caught it before everything in your refrigerator was steaming hot. or if it happened in the freezer, before everything was pretty much thawed out.

I don't know if I'm even going to bother putting the bulb back in after this, I'm so freaked out.

I finally pulled the bulbs out and plugged the fridge back in... only to open it and smell burning again. So, awesome, it's an entire electrical thing that happens even without the bulbs. Whoopdeedoo. ; u;
