so i went to a 4th of july party last weekend and forgot to spray sunscreen on... my ankles. i am really fair skinned but didnt think id need it. i did.

so the front of my ankles got sunburnt.

well now it itches really bad. it wont stop and both of them itch and it is spreading to my toes and above my ankles to my leg.

i know most of you arent doctors but does anyone know if this is normal? i mean it REALLY itches. i cant stop. ive tried all sorts of lotions and creams and anti itch stuff but it doesnt work. whats worse is it is all red. idk if im allergic to something or what but HELP!!!

im so sick of the itching!

oh and no i don have bug bites there. i have checked many times.

please help my sanity is at stake! it is so annoying!

[edit] i found out its itching because that is my body's way of telling me the skin is ready to come off. i am going to go exfoliate and maybe that'll stop the itching.

Sun burn is going to itch. I'm really fair skinned and when I get sunburnt, it's very itchy. I suggest putting challomine (it's pale pink in colour. i can't spell it right) lotion or Aloe on it. Oh, and don't scratch it. It just irritates it more. It's going to be red because it's sun burnt. Have you never been sunburned? o_o

no i know its red because its burnt. im not an idiot. of course ive been burnt before.

my dd says its spreading because i walked right through a poison ivy patch today when i was going to get my horse from the field.

If it is spreading it is not sumburn. it may be partly sunburn. but it does sound like poison ivy or oak. i would go get some meds from the store.

if it looks dry and scaly, it's probably the sunburn ready to come off...if it's red and bubbly, it's poison ivy and don't DON'T scratch it.
