You need an item with the word Boot or Shoe in your inventory.

But I wouldn't recommand doing this. You'll most likely lose stat points on one of your Pets. The chances to get stat raises from kicking the machine is very small.

I agree with Yiri. It isn't worth kicking the machine.

I did stats on kicking this machine, and even if you don't count in the cost of boots (they get used up with the kick) it is a net loss. I also found out it wouldn't reduce any stat below 1, which is too bad because one of my subetapets accidentally read a book he shouldn't have and wanted to get it out of his brain.
