Lemme start off saying, MY CAT IS SO DAMN CLINGY.
He follows me into each room. Then, he lays on the arm of the chair next to me, on the desk near my keyboard, on my beside pillow. He cries for me when I'm gone, and runs to me when i'm home.
Everywhere I go (bathroom, shower) He's beside me. not that i mind, just sometimes its annoying.
He's about 3 years old and there is a 2nd cat in the house. what is my cat's problem??

That he loves you? Lol, he may have separation anxiety; cats can get it just like people. If it is bothering you, some vets can prescribe medicine that helps animals with anxiety, though that would be ultimately your choice to make as to whether its severe enough. My dad's cat was recently put on anti-anxiety meds because of generalized anxiety, and she's a lot happier for it.
Unless your cat is showing signs of anxiety, it sounds like he's got a great relationship with you. I'd relish it. Some people have cats that sleep all day long and don't do anything. Not really a pet.
Hmm, If he did have anxiety, I don't think it would be sever enough to get medication for. Besides him crying for me, he doesn't show any signs of anxiety. Im just not used to a cat being so clingy, to the point they constantly want to be in your lap, or laying across your arms. I honestly think he was a dog in his past life. Thanks for the advise though, I might speak with the vet next time he goes.
Thank you, though sometimes it does get annoying. He seems like a dog rather than a cat.

I have a cat that sounds pretty similar lol. He often sits outside the toilet when I'm in there and meows pathetically and scratches the door until I come out.
As long as it's not causing a problem, and your cat is happy, I think it's nice that he loves you :P You can get plug in things like feliway, pet remedy and things like that and they do help calm and reduce anxiety. that might be useful if he gets upset when you're not around but i guess if you're not there, it's hard to know whether he's stressed when he's alone :P
has he always been like this or has it just suddenly started? if its sudden behaviour change maybe you should ask your vet to have a look over him and make sure it's not caused by illness but if he's always been clingy then i think he's just a sweet cat haha!
It doesn't sound like a problem necessarily. Some cats are just more social than others. My friend had two cats, one who always ignored me and the other who was a total attention whore. :)

My cats do the same to me, they're just more clingy than other cats I've had before; one of them even goes so far as getting in the shower with me. The other isn't nearly that extreme though. But if I'm in a room, they're in it too, and if I shut the door they'll be looking under it meowing. If it gets to be too problematic, you could try to slowly separate him from you little by little. Mine got so bad they would try to run outside with me, but they didn't realize that if they ran outside, they wouldn't be near me. But they do make calming collars (similar to flea collars) that calm animals and reduce anxiety. It'd be worth a shot.
Cats all have different personalities, silly. Just like people, some cats like their space and being alone, and some like being with people. I think he just really loves you :) Anytime I get up to go to the bathroom, my kitty hears me and will come lay in the hall and wait for me, or come in the bathroom and flop over on the floor. He even sits on the edge of the tub while I shower. I don't think it's a problem. I think it's cute, and flattering :)
