I know it is long enough but I just don't want really short dreads, I love long ones but I'm too impatient to wait for my hair to grow. :P So please if anyone can tell me how long it would probably be, that'd be awesome, and I would like some honesty if anyone thinks I shouldn't get them because I would look hella dumb. My cousin put dreads in her own hair, and she braided/knotted extensions into her real hair. I'm pretty sure the hair shortens a lot when it's put into dreads!

My brother-in-law put dreads in his hair and it was just below his shoulders and ended up just brushing his shoulders. You will probably lose about two or three inches of length. It does depend on the thickness of your hair, like if it is thicker it loses less length. I don't think you would look dumb at all. And your hair will continue to grow so they will get longer. Make sure you read up a lot on care for them because it is kind of a big deal if you want them to look good and stay clean.
