okay, so long story short- i trusted my mom with cutting my hair. i never like anyone touching my hair; and i wanted it cut asymmetrical and the picture i showed her had the front of the hair past the jawline. needless to say, she cut it way shorter than i'm comfortable with. now it curls /just/ below my ear, and i look horrible with it. ;n; i was wondering if there was any sorts of shampoo or other stuff that you guys know about that can speed up hair growth? i don't wanna wait two years for it to grow back to the length i wanted it. /whale noise

Biotin and silica supplements do wonders for hair. They are both natural occuring vitamins and they are also pretty affordable. They help your hair grow in thicker and help keep it healthy. They also do wonders for your skin by keeping it clear and help your nails grow strong. You can take them both seperate but taking them together helps a lot. I hope I helped! You can buy them from any supplement shop and sometimes you can find them in the vitamin section at your local grochery store.

Okay, if your hair thickness is a concern maybe you should just take one.

I've been told by more than one person that crushing up a bunch of prenatal vitamins to dust and mixing into your shampoo does wonders. I've yet to try it myself because I keep forgetting lol, but hey, what can it hurt? It's just vitamins directly on your scalp!
I read that getting a trim every six to eight weeks promotes faster and healthier hair growth but I haven't experienced it myself yet as I just learned about it before my haircut last week. Having a good diet with plenty of water helps a lot. The shampoos mentioned by others are also a good idea.
I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or not, but ever since switching to natural shampoos I've found my hair is a lot healthier and grows a lot faster.
I use Alba Hawaiian Shampoo, there are a few different varieties for different hair types. I dye my hair neon purple and it seems to be soft and healthy and I have to redo my roots pretty fucking often, so it's growing pretty quickly.
Basically look for anything free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, and phthalates.
Like other folks in this topic, I've found natural/organic hair cleansers have made my hair super-fantastic-awesome and it's started to grow a lot faster. It's still only a mildly impressive ~inch per month or two, and it took a while to get to that point as well, not to mention some adjusting; I'm off shampoo entirely, just a really good cleanser and conditioner, but anything that doesn't have sulfates, silicones, parabens, or alcohol in it is a pretty good bet.
This is specifically for curly hair, but it details a few lists of ingredients in shampoo to avoid, as well as what's good in 'em: http://www.wikihow.com/Determine-if-a-Hair-Product-is-Curly-Girl-Approved
Other than that! The only extra advice I haven't seen yet in this thread is to massage your scalp. Stimulating your scalp and the blood flow to it makes your hair all kinds of happy!
Do you like fish? If so eating that should help, has a lot of zinc or so from what I've heard.
clings and makes whale noises with you I got bangs after maybe 10 years or so not having them. I thought I needed a change. CHANGE IS HIGHLY OVERRATED PEOPLE. It's been months since I got it done and I've spent every single day hairspraying them back. I can't fucking wait until they're long enough to ponytail again.
oh gosh, my hair's been around my lower back my entire life- and i had no bangs, they were the same length. i got them cut blunt, worst mistake of my life ;; anyways, thank you all for the suggestions! i'm going to try them out, if my mom agrees anyway. <3
