I want to buy a tablet but this will be my first one to buy. Any recommendations for me? I've been drawing traditional art for 7 years now, and want to start digital because my future art career involves into technology now.

I have a Wacom Bamboo Capture tablet that has been really useful to me. Its only about $100 at best buy. It came with Photoshop and Autodesk Sketchbook :)

If you are going to be using it for a while and have the funds, I suggest jumping straight to the Wacom's Intuos line. I find them to work more smoothly than Bamboo :)

I have a medium sized Wacom Intuos 4 which I've owned for a year and a half now and I absolutely adore it.

I have a large and small intuos 3 and I love them! And if you look on ebay you can find them cheap since they are on the 5 now and they still work great!

I'm here to break the Wacom chain - I have a 6x10 Monoprice tablet and I really like it. I haven't done much with more expensive tablets to compare to, but I've heard Monoprice tablets compare quite well to the bigger brands, and I've never had a problem with it. Plus if you're looking for something inexpensive to practice with it's a good option (I've only been drawing digitally for about a year now).

I say go for monoprice. I've had Wacom bamboo tablets, and I have to say, the pressure on my monoprice is so much better! It's also way cheaper, so it's great for a first tablet

I own a intuos 4 tablet in medium which I got on sale at best buy. I adore the pressure on it, it does wonders. But my friend has the original bamboo, which she got for 70$ at best buy and loves it too! So id say it depends on what you want. If you want one with super pressure and are more likely to sell art I would go for the intuos[wait around for a sale or coupon to come around!] and if its just for fun and to see if you like tablets then try the bamboo, or bamboo fun :] they have a ton of others now too thou, another friend has the bamboo touch and adores it as much.

And wacom also does refurbished tablets on their site, which I have herd work just as the new ones but are much cheaper. And all the wacom customer service is some of the best CS Ive ever come upon. They are really there for you :] And if you buy a tablet from their site instead of best buy there are other special offers and warranties that come along with it.

I've had an Intuos 3 & currently own the 5, though bamboo is also a great starter tablet. Wacom has great customer service as well so that's a plus. Personally I almost miss my 3 over the 5 I have now just because the 5 has a softer "texture" to the drawing area but that could be a good thing to a traditional artist since it feels more like drawing on paper. c: Plus it has touch capability you can customize, though honestly I haven't dabbled in that yet.

Another tablet I've heard is extremely good is called Monoprice. It runs about 60$ I believe is is just as good as the Wacom line (some reviews say it's even and they prefer it!). It's just because it's off-brand that it isn't as well known.

My first tablet was a Wacom Graphire, that worked beautifully for a long time, but was a little smaller than what i wanted, and then I got a Wacom Bamboo Capture, and i love it, but i'm a klutz, dropped it, and it stopped working :c so i just ordered this one, and it should be here today!

A serious testament to Wacom, I got their Intuos 3 large in 2004 and it still works like the first day I got it. It's so durable and the longevity is ridiculous. It's even been stepped on and traveled back and forth with me everyday to college classes where I needed it.

These package deals sound nice for the bamboo capture but... intuos 3. :}
