I earned yet another Loyalty box back in December (and a merry Luminaire it was, indeed!), but ran across a slight dilemma:

I don't have a GA, and I want that Pet Slot.

I'm curious: would it update my total (by saying I have 22 pet slots - OBVIOUSLY, I CANNOT USE THAT 22ND SLOT. I know this), or not? Should I wait to use the totem until I have a GA, or can I rid myself of a locked item?

...Err. For further clarification: is there even the SLIGHTEST possibility that the Pet Slot Totem can be 'wasted' by using it (the item) without a GA? It's still early, I haven't had my coffee just yet... therefore, I'm not the usually-coherent, articulate person I tend to be.

I believe that it would, I remember when the pet slot was given out for getting 2000 users online people without GAs were able to use it so it said they had 6 slots instead of 5, but they couldn't fill it until they got a GA.

- oh, fantastic. :3 I had a GA at the time for that, so I really had no idea!

It sticks out in my mind because of the massive amounts of complaining about it haha. Free pet slot but people were mad they needed a GA to use it.

If you get a GA then use the pet slot, you can keep it unless you give away, sell or abandon a pet, then the 6th slot (or whichever) will revert back to 5 without a GA, IF I understand it correctly.
