For the second time in less than a month, my retarded ass managed to fall down the stairs in my house...which I am now convinced that they're trying to kill me or something. The first time, I fell down the entire flight, killing my left wrist, bruising ribs on the left side, and spraining my left ankle. This time, I managed to not fall down the entire flight, but I did sprain both ankles, the left one being a severe sprain. Total win for being sent home on crutches when both ankles are killing me. I had Vicodin left over from that accident on the 23rd. Took two...I'm incredibly fucked up but the pain is still making me want to cry. So yeah, that's about how awesome I am. I am, however, SO glad I decided to not take my four month old son downstairs with me...I would never forgive myself if anything happened to him. But yeah, I'm gonna be ripping them stairs out myself... Honestly, who builds a staircase with steps that aren't even 7 1/2 inches deep and then paints them with GLOSSY paint?

I managed to do the same several years ago <.< Do you have blank stairs? Maybe try to put these small pieces of carpet on them? That helped me back then when I continuely fell down the stairs or slipped on them. But I'm glad you didn't take your son with you too, that could have been horrible ... but, yeah, try to do something so you don't fall down anymore, either carpet or some rubber stuff that avoids slipping on them or something.

If the stairs are wood, have you considered carpeting them. We used to have carpet on the stairs in our old house and I don't remember ever falling down them and even if you did fall a couple steps at least you landed on soft carpet rather than hard wood.

We have some old carpet runners that will probably be put on as a short term fix, but Aaron wants to tear them out and build safer steps. It just sucks that no matter how careful I am about walking down them, I still manage to slip and fall.

Ooh, yes...the recent discoveries. I managed to somehow shatter my upper right wisdom tooth, and I came home from the ER this morning with pink eye. Going to the dentist for the first time in over five years on Tuesday and hoping the rest of the tooth gets pulled...it's so sharp and painful =( The pink eye...ha...first time I've ever had it. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy...

- Cold cold COLD washcloth on the eye works beautifully to soothe it. So does candlelight. I just got over pink eye that I have no idea how I got. What a painful icky goopy mess THAT was. The antibiotic drops work wonders, after three or four days. I spent two days just repeatedly getting cold washcloths and laying in bed with them pressed on my eyes.

Also, I hate stairs, I have no depth perception so going down stairs is my mortal enemy.
