A friend gave me a code to use to get 20% off a purchase. So I put the item I wanted in my cart, and then went to push in the code and clicked update but it still showed the same computed price... Do the codes expire or something or do you actually have to press "make purchase" for them to work.

I'm 99% sure the "update cart" bit only updates the quantities you choose. The code should work (if it is valid) when you make the purchase. I'll even refund the CSC if it doesn't :)
