So, after revising this thread idea (sorry to anyone who saw it before and posted) I'm going to be suggesting having some sort of line or trunk of t.v. personality items.

Even if this was to get boiled down to a costume trunk of tv personalities one female one male and combining things like wigs, one set of eyes, facial features, some sort of outfit and a background idea. I think it would be fun to try combining different tv personalities into one guy and one girl set.

Some mentioned: Stephen Colbert - hair or eyes Letterman - glasses Conan - hair Leno - chin

Needing some suggestions for female personality items though: Oprah - either her straight or curly hairstyle? Ellen - grin? Chelsea Handler - eyes maybe? she has some very distinct eyes and eyebrows Kelly Ripa - maybe one of her short-sleeved or sleeveless dresses?

What would the female side be?

And I really don't see what's so trademarked about wearing suits. Loads of other male celebrities wear similar-looking suits. Or, arguably, even more interesting suits. (Example.)

The suit-wearing isn't really trademark, but that raised-eyebrow look is (gawd, hoping I'm using the word trademark right) I just mentioned suits because he usually wears them, and there aren't nearly enough decent suit pieces.

Yes, but I don't see what's so special about his suits in particular to make him worthy of having a trunk.

I don't know if there would be enough to make an entire trunk from, but perhaps a few items could be created.

That being said, since this is for a costume trunk, I'm going to move this to CS suggestions :)

I'd rather see something like a Token Shop item of his eyebrows, rather than a whole trunk.

This belongs more in SubQ, imo.

Since the eyebrows are really the only thing that is significant, it might be better to include images of the eyebrow/face look that you are suggesting.

What about making individual items in a line perhaps. Because I love Conan O'Brien's hair. And for everyone dissing celebrity wearables, subeta already did the wild one/flashback items based on Madonna.

I like that idea more. There are lots of talk show personality types that have some notable characteristics.

For the female side, I think it will be a little more difficult. I know of some but I am having trouble thinking of characteristics. Everyone knows who Oprah is when they see her, the same with Ellen, but if I had to pick one thing that defines their "look", I really can't.

With Ellen, maybe a wig or a different nose?? That is another thing. It would be nice to have a few more noses.

NEVERTHELESS I think they have enough ideas to maybe start a springboard for caricature (sp?) celebrity items. ❤

As much as I love Stephen Colbert (and I really, really love the guy), a costume trunk themed around him and any other news/talk show host would be rather...boring? Their clothes are all suites, or simple outfits. The only thing I can see stemming from them that would be a fun item, would be like a news desk or something. But then why not just go for a news themed MCT, with an anchor and a reporter in the field or something?

I like what Anacrusis said (she convinced me to make the thread :P) so I'm gonna change the thread idea to reflect that.

I don't think so, for the same reason I said before. TV hosts all have very basic outfits, same with any popular show, really. You can already dress as Colbert fairly easy, same with House, Kurt from Glee, and any other TV character.
