large art 1 example / large art 2 example / large art 3 example
what i'm looking for
i would pretty much like a price range for the redraw art, and a price range for the large art.
please PING me when you reply! thank you for anyone who helps!
Posting here because it's more on-topic than your experimental thread :P
So to be honest when I commissioned you, I was unsure what to expect not because your one example wasn't good but because it is drastically different from the rest of your art. To be honest it was your larger art that I found on your DA that encouraged me to message you :)
Your larger art reminds me of another artist on this site and I can't for the LIFE of me remember who it is.
For larger art I think to test the waters you'd want to start in the range of 7-12mil, and depending on popularity, I'd say stay around 15mil. The slope for expensive art is pretty steep, and it's /honestly/ based on how hard it is to get a slot with the artist. I've gotten tons of pieces of good art for 5-10mil, so it really becomes a personal preference of what you think your time is worth. For myself, I'd pay 10mil for the style you have for your larger pictures, maybe 15mil for the detail put into something like Sullivan. For the overlay I'd like pay between 3-5mil (so your price is spot on)
yes, as of recently, i've changed my lining style, which is why a lot of my work is kind of all over the place currently, but i am thankful you took a chance with me and enjoyed the outcome!
as for the larger art, i was thinking where you were suggesting, (though i base my prices on difficulty not time). when you say for the detail i put into sullivan, what do you mean? haha. the only sullivan i have is my shark dog on dA... and that's a reference :P not sure if you meant another name!
either way, thank you for your input! it has definitely put some insight into my art! another quick question, if i did open a shop with the redraws/larger art, would it go to the art market, or the graphic/profile area? -so unsure-
I've always gambled with art :P Very rarely have a came out disappointed ^_^
Actually yes, I was talking about the reference, I still think of references as a show of an artists skill :P I figure if the reference has a full picture, you can just as easy take out the rest and there you have a piece of quad art xD
For anything /other/ than pet profiles and overlays specifically you'd go to the art market :) Most of the time people doing pixel icons and overlays tend to go to Art market anyway. I find there's a LOT more people looking for art there. I mean, the only reason it's an overlay is because that's how you decided to refer to it. Ideally you can go into the art market and offer quad art in specific sizes and people would use them for overlays if they want to :P I know I've used normal art for overlays and overlays as pixel art.
awesome! you've been a huge help :) i guess all i can say is keep your eyes open for my shop in the near future! haha.
