A lot of people, including myself, have been constantly complaining over the fact that there is no way to see past posts in the shoutbox and see if somebody has replied to you, or said something important. Even an infinite scrolling feature, or at the very least a scrolling feature would be very nice to have in the SB.

I second this. Suggestion has been at least 5 minutes past. The ten or so messages is too small a space when the SB gets crowded.

I think it's a really good idea but what I think might be a little better is if there was a link under the sb you could click on that said past post and if you click on it, it would take you to a page so you could view past post.

Yes thats a good idea as well but maybe it would say different things at the top of the page so you can view post from earlier in the day or the day before. It could say something like view past post from: 1 day a go - 5+ hours a go - 2 hours a go and so on at the top of the page.

Yeah you might be right about that. A clock option is a good idea because then you could go back at an time during the day you wanted to and after 1 day the old post get cleared out from the page.

Being as I said I wish this existed when I missed several comments earlier, I am naturally fully behind this suggestion, if it's doable. I sincerely hope it is. Even if you can view just the last half an hour, or if you can view just that day's shouts. Sometimes the SB moves so fast and people are questing or busy, but trying to keep up conversation still, and it just gets difficult to keep track of conversation when the shouts disappear within a minute, sometimes less.

So yes, please, Keith? I'm not above begging if it helps. :P

Okay, I think that going back a whole day of SB messages is waaay too much. Maybe keep the last hour (at most) of messages is more than enough, to me. But being able to go back a little whiles is pretty useful.

Haha, exactly my feelings. I don't think there's anything useful that anybody would need to know a day back.

On another note that I thought of, this feature could be very useful to staff. If there is a fight, racism, or something rude in the SB that needs to be adressed and they miss it, they can easily view the past posts with the feature and put punishment to the problem as needed.

Weren't you able to view more messages when the shoutbox was pop out years ago? If that's the case, they should do it again with that option!

I actually believe that you could, from what I remember. Although, now that it's installed in the site, I guess we can't anymore. Maybe they could make the past messages in a little pop up box.

The SB isn't allowed to be open if there isn't a moderator online actively monitoring it. They often take a while to respond or dole out punishments, but it does get done. Also if the issue is so small that it's forgotten and passed over in one easily-missed post, it probably doesn't require staff intervention to begin with.

To add on to ' post, I'm also certain that staff themselves can actually go back and read through past posts on the SB.
