So I had a stupid arrest that I got when I was 17, and this mugshot site has my picture up there. All of the information regarding the arrest is totally wrong… wrong dates and locations and whatever. The picture was taken when I was 17 so legally they can't have it up there. But they have it is there's almost NO way to email them to tell them to take it down, other than to just pay 400 dollars to get it removed by an "outside source". I had my sister, who IS a lawyer, email them a week ago with no response and I doubt we will get one. I really want this down but find it SO annoying that this shady site charges 400 dollars to get it down, when legally they should have never been able to put it up because I was underaged when the photo was taken.

Any advice on this..? The website is mugshots.com, if that matters.

Have your sister look more into this website. She maybe able to find a legal way to have it taken down. If need be, file charges/suit for defamation of character /slander/ whatever else. You goofed up once and you learned from it. You shouldn't have to continue to suffer from it, esp since this happened when you were a minor.

It looks like the domain is registered with Fabulous.com. Maybe this will help There is contact info, including an abuse address. Good luck! It really sucks you have to deal with this. :(

Personally, I would make it my life mission to ruin them. I would be suing the heck outta them and trying to get them shut down. I would get on my soap box and freak until someone listened. They need to get their facts straight, and if a lawsuit is the only way to do that, then you have every right to do so. I'd say contact a lawyer, but you already have.

Yeah, the issue is that like through my research I've just seen that it's not worth it at all... like the lawsuit would 1) not work, and 2) cost more than just giving the site the 400 dollars to remove the mugshot for me, which is total bullshit obviously. :/ I wish I could just sue them but it won't be worth it, unfortunately.
