Soo i'm at the point where i have to become infected so that i can help Skitters and complete the plot but the problem is i don't have a clue as to how to become infected. I'd really like some help, it would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest and fastest way is to enter the Bake Shop. That will give you the Baker's Kiss. Otherwise don a zombie mask and refresh at Shadowglen until you get infected.

A word of warning, though, the plot is going to end either tonight or tomorrow morning.
