So Its official Disney as bought Lucasfilm for $4 Billion and they have confirmed that they will be making an Episode 7 Star Wars movie due in 2015.

Lucas will be on the creative team, but will not be directing it.

So what are you thoughts guys???

I love Disney to death, im a huge Disney fan I always have been. But if any company out there knows how to Kill a series its Disney. Im so worried that this will be the ultimate killing factor in Star Wars, And I love my Star Wars. INFO RIGHT HERE

Star Wars could still be viable and salvageable. But they really need to really clear out some debris. There is some cool content like Thrawn, and Lucas won't be fully in charge like Episodes 1-3.

I really suggest that they don't do anything too far into the future though, Darth Krayt and all his gang look good on a comic but probably not a movie.

I think they should bring Revan in Kotor 1 to life, just because people like that. That way they can make Kotor 2 a movie, and introduce the best villain I have ever seen, Darth Traya, to the world.

Honestly, the Star Wars universe is already a huge mess of inconsistency and I really doubt Disney is going to help that. They're one of the worst culprits. I love my Star Wars, but I've learned to take it in stride and just kind of stick with my favorite sections of the SW universe. I really hope they don't ruin this, but my hopes are not high, so I'm not going to froth at the mouth if it gets screwed up to high heaven.

i think that SW fans probably have it the worst....c'mon i mean... the force unleashed? and the numerous EU books and the ongoing tv series that seemingly always has fans questioning, second guessing & not to mention bitching about whats considered canon and whatnot. i know countless other SW fans who will just disregard certain aspects of its media. star wars: the clone wars for example. who is to say that the cgi clone wars is better than the 2003 tartakovsky clone wars cartoon? i hear this argument all the time and honestly wish people would just come to an agreement that all things star wars are great in their own way. i love star wars! and all the people who work to bring us fans our sw-related media, merchandise and memorabilia. i think that with disney's backing the franchise will grow tenfold and even reach out to people who probably arent aware of the vastness that is star wars. i definitely don't have high hopes for the movie right now but i will keep my opinions to myself until i've actually watched it. but i predict it to be something like episode 7: attack of the lens flare. considering j.j. abrams and all.

Well it seems like the movie is having greater impacts than just erasing some EU content(some of which is necessary), they just cancelled the Clone Wars as a result of the new set of movies coming out. Just when the series finally had an excellent arc... I have a bad feeling about this.

me also! i'm pretty upset about the cancellation as saturdays were single-handedly the best day...what else do i have to look forward to on saturdays now?! ;o; but even if it was continued, how much of ahsoka would we see? not nearly enough imo, so maybe they did choose to end it at the right time. that last arc though...my poor heart could barely take it, although i kind of foreshadowed the event, as i had been hoping all along for her to go rogue. in the mortis arc ahsoka`s future self appeared to her and warned her about continuing her service with the jedi, and about her master, i feel like it could have possibly had a great impact on her choice.

I guess I'd be excited if the Yuuzhan Vong appeared just because I like the aesthetic they have. Actually I prefer the aesthetic I came up for them. Probably won't appear in the movies.

Jacen and Jaina appearing wouldn't be too bad. Tenel Ka too.

oh yeah, i would absolutely love to see the yuuzhan vong appear, and you never know, maybe they might...but considering the timeline it might not match up correctly. i'm p sure that luke & leia are confirmed for the next movie, so jacen & jaina may not show up at all yet. though the closer it gets to release date, the more excited i am to see it.
