it's a little tacky :s
edit: it also makes an awful scroll bar on my dash ;_;
dont judge me im so poor rn
It may be but I'm sure with all the revamps they could use a bit of support to help them continue to keep up with the costs. I mean they have changed a lot of things in just the past week.
I just wish the little question mark beside it would say something for me to explain it a bit more. Just takes me to buy CSC without really saying anything else.
i'm not saying we shouldn't support subeta - if you could see how much of my pocket money goes to CSC you'd laugh, hahahaha. but i just think it's kinda tacky to have the bar there in our faces. it's kinda like a guilt trip i guess? also it keeps changing colors depending on what page i'm on hahahaha
I don't mind it, I liked the idea of knowing subeta's daily goal but I'm pretty sure you can hide it with adblock if it's bugging you :)

i'm fine now that it's moved but um

this happened
Seems like they moved it. Good. But I think they need to add details to the bar. What is the daily goal, and what is the current amount? Otherwise it looks a bit bare with just a bar with a red bar inside...
It is becoming inherently obvious that we are falling drastically short of the daily support goal on a regular basis and Subeta is pushing CSC harder than ever. Is Subeta becoming a 'dying site'? I am beginning to finally piece together pet stories as well as acquire more artwork and just need a coder to get some profiles to put it all in. I would really hate for it to all be in vain... I think Subeta should be honest about how much exactly the daily support goal is, itemized costs as well as the longevity of any current funds saved. I know Valenth went quite literally without warning and it really would be horrible if that happened here. I enjoy this site (as I know many others do) and I would be willing to help save it if set goals were announced but blindly dumping cash into it without knowing where it's going and what it's funding is a bit hard to swallow.
I'll continue donating nonetheless, but I am curious as to what the daily goals actually are. It'd be nice to see actual numbers. If that's not possible, I'd rather see it as weekly goal instead of daily goals.
I don't necessarily agree with the latter part of that last sentence though. I'm confident that the money is going into running the site - whether it's to pay for the servers or for the staff. I doubt any of it is going elsewhere.
Problem is that we don't know how far over the goal it goes after we hit 100%. First of the month and new cs item days usually go over the support goal fairly early in the day. So for all we know, it may very well be like 200% or more over the daily goal. I think having a monthly goal would honestly be better since it would give a truer sense of how we are doing I feel like. If a month is too long, even a week would be better than a day.

"This bar represents the amount of credit purchases we need daily to continue running Subeta" This, to me, sounds like- if it isn't met continuously, Subeta can no longer run. Your donations, I'm sure, are appreciated but unless I know what this goal is and the stipulations surrounding the goal, I personally can't justify dumping in money :/
Also, I wasn't really referring to "fowl play" (although I'm pretty sure some set salaries are in effect, that particular business practice is extremely common and widely accepted) I was more referring to the notion that perhaps Subeta is funding endeavors that Subetans care very little about and we could possibly vote as a collective whole to put funding where we really want it. A more user-friendly and exciting site with fresh features will certainly draw more new users and potentially bring back old ones. Also, Subeta may potentially find a user or someone a user knows that can fulfill a particular need for the site at a better rate. It's all hypotheticals at this point as most of us are in the dark, but I think shedding light on the situation would benefit both Subeta and it's users. I think for most users to start really start funding, at least a dollar amount and an honest evaluation of Subeta's well-being (both short and long-term) would be the minimum information needed.
I'm a little worried, because even the announcement of 5 more pet slots being allowed was not enough to get the meter to 100%, I believe that the meter stopped around 85-90% that day, close, but not quite the 100%
I'd be curious to see how often we actually hit the 100% and like Seerow said, by how much.
Granted, I really like the daily bar. My regret is to not having kept tabs and stats from it since it was released, for statistical purposes. It is my fault, not the site, though
(Pinged because you can feel free to correct me on the following statements) has stated that most of the money Subeta gets are used on servers and salary, in that order. So, a big slice of the income is used for something that is a necessity.
Also, there are all of the other expenses Subeta has. I am not sure which social benefits Subeta currently has, but that costs money! Running a business is expensive!
And, you say "whatever the users want more". I think the first step for this is to figure out what users really want, because I'm pretty sure that the staff wants the same thing L a progressive social site that runs smoothly. That's most likely how staff sees the site in the future.
I do not agree with everything said by staff in the past, but I really do believe that we are all rowing in the same direction.
I would like to see a weekly or monthly goal either with the daily or instead of. I honestly don't think that we need to have a say in what the money is being spent on. As long as the site is still running (smooth for the most part) and things are getting updated, I am fine with that. I honestly believe that Keith and the rest of the staff love this site as much, if not more, than we do and they want to see it continue to grow by putting our money to good use. (yay for never having a site wide roll back again!)

I honestly hate the daily goal, and would love seeing it moved to weekly or more, unless we're given a chart to show what days the site performs better... and I would love to see numbers associated. I mean, they don't have to be exact, but ~$1,000 is better than "some obscure amount of money."

^Lmao! When I see that all I can think of is Subeta actually wants to buy LondonXD lol Keith with his crown on a thrown saying Peasants...I..I mean Royal subjects>w>;
re: daily goal vs weekly/monthly goal, posted this on another feedback thread:
I want to take time to say thank you for your thoughtful input!
I understand that servers are pricy and that salaries must be paid (which I mentioned) and I will say it again, I'm not suspecting "fowl play". I'm also aware that running a business gets expensive and I have been investing for quite some time and assessing a business' longevity and growth potential is a massive part of determining risk. I do this on the side of a full-time job (60+hrs/week). Over five years I have tripled my original savings used for investing of 10k into around 30k and lost 6.2k (in a rather dishonest deal and I am lucky I caught on and did not lose more...) but by next year will have made 3.6k on others so I guess that helps absorb that hit. I also invest in a Roth, S&P and mutual funds but of course the higher risk of business investments yields far more.
I am writing all of this because THIS is how I am approaching the topic at hand- as an investment. Subeta has not come out and said what action will be taken if daily/monthly goals are not met on a regular basis. Will it be forced to downgrade servers and discontinue certain site functions/activities? Will it shut down completely? Whether I throw $1, $10, $100 or more towards funding this (in my opinion- absolutely amazing site) is irrelevant. I am frugal, I want the most out of every dollar I work my butt off to earn. I want to know what happens if our community falls short because I see it as an investment since I have no real need for that much CSC. The relatively recent release (<--yay, alliteration!) of the xbox one and PS4 and their plethora of bombastic new titles I'm sure put a strain on a lot of internet games. And I dare to also lay blame to the dismal economic crisis currently plaguing so many hard-working Americans for the downswing in 'superfluous' consumer expenditures. I really just want to know what will happen if we can't collectively keep Subeta funded before I even think of investing in this site, plain and simple. If Keith comes out and says that he will do absolutely EVERYTHING he can to keep this incredible site up and running and has no intention of closing it, the current funding issues at hand, as well as showing us if monthly goals are being met, I will pledge $100 to start. I have gained hours of enjoyment from this site at minimal cost and I really don't want Subeta to fail. $100 is the least I can do for all I have gained here and I would be willing to do more if I see that monthly goals are not regularly in the negative and that Subeta has a fighting chance. Neopets is a freaking joke compared to Subeta (I wasted a lot of time there before I found this site) and I see it closing within the next 2-3 years. If it does, Subeta has a chance to take over its users since it's the only site (I've found) that is anywhere near comparable. Keith and his team have built a powerful empire and I commend him and his staff for their exponential dedication and innovation. I want this site to succeed and prevail but the heavy emphasis on funding being put out in the open is worrisome. I just want specifics. I just want to know the severity extent of our funding problems. I just want a promise that Subeta has all the fighting chance it can possibly have on both ends. I see the dedication and passion for Subeta in this site with every click of my mouse and I want to know that dedication and passion has not waned in hard times.
It may seem i'm taking this, to some, too seriously. But I find replacing this site as a relaxation to rough work days and stressful times a serious issue. I love my real pets and family very much and relish every moment I spend with them, I relish my physical hobbies, but I also relish my "alone time" and 'sedate computer activities' because it helps me mentally reboot and refresh. I LOVE Subeta and what it has to offer to my vivid imagination and I think many would agree. Replacing it with another similar outlet would be hard.
