Gas explosion in Allentown, PA
It's was around 10:30 last night when there was a really loud BOOM and then our entire house shook for a second.
Apparently there was a gas leak under a house in a neighborhood not even 5 minutes from my house. This stuff is getting more common, which is scaring me and a lot of the people who live here. Our gas pipes here predate the 1930's!
Yikes. A sweet baby died, how awful, At least it was fast, but, oh my. What a tragedy. Scary, too.
collecting oh geez x: i hope most of our piping in Littlestown area is UTD x.x

Thank you anon ;_; x10 March 4/21/21 (RIP Storm-buddy the leopard gecko- you lived a great 16.5 years.)
I know Allentown's pipes are old but it makes me wonder about the rest of the state, I live very close to Hershey and I know Harrisburg most likely has a good bit of the old piping. Though what really gets me is the state not really doing anything about it, simply because we don't have the funding to fix major problems like this. -shakes head- I wish the state would get their priorities in order.
Oh geez.. I hope they really get on trying to replace those pipes. I don't know if you heard about the San Bruno gas explosion? That just happened last year, lots of people lost their homes and their lives from the gas explosion. Apparently there was a crack in the pipeline, and residents had been smelling gas for weeks. They even informed the gas company about it, but nothing was done. Then one day, it just exploded. :C Sad really.
