Okay so like I made the comment that the maze part of the plot was so fing gay, because it wasn't working for me...
Re: This post here
and supposedly this is hate speech because its a homophobic slur Re:This post here?? or one of their posts.... then this person goes to other places to rage me out for being a homophobic person when they know nothing bout me, what the hell
they didnt even ask if i was gay Which FYI i am... what is wrong with what i said???
Also i kinda was a bit mean with my replies Re:Here and here but i felt justified at the time
i dont even know why im bothering to get annoyed at this point its like they have already made up their mind about me you know.. idk Sub wats ur thought... was i a total dumb ass or is their some validity to my annoyance :)???
Yeah, cause this is totally not targeting or anything.
could you take care of this?
wait are you saying I'm targeting that person because i am showing what went down??? how is that targeting?? I thought it was easiest to do that then to copy and paste each an every post.... I just wants some help to sort this out, im not good with interacting with people and I hoped that with all the facts people could show me were i went wrong so i didnt do it again, because clearly im in the wrong and all....
I'm honestly curious, you do know what the actual definition of gay in that context is right?
To comment on your topic, I think it is stupid to use gay to describe something that is bad, but I don't really care about it enough to make a big stink.
You said "this maze is gay" as in "this maze is stupid/annoying/frustrating/other negative adjective", which translates into gay = negative, as in gay = insult, which is why it is problematic.
I am pretty gay myself, too, and things like that sometimes used to slip from me too. And it is okay to use slurs in a company that gets that it's not meant harmfully and in a company that you know anyone won't get offended. But the this is a public forum. The message saying "this is so gay" is giving out is gay = negative, and that is bad.
It doesn't have anything to do with you being gay or not. Obviously the person shouldn't have out and went to call you homophobic without knowing you. I admit I didn't read the messages because they were long, but what they should have done in this situation is to politely inform you why such language might be harmful without jumping to conclusions.
But yet, they were in the right for getting offended for your language and calling you out on it, although I think that instead of going out to talk about it somewhere else they should have confronted you about it face to face. But bottom line is, with language like that you're actually doing bad for yourself, since you're gay, and the LGBTQ people as a whole.
