last december i had six fillings done to remove soft spots and/or cavities in my teeth, done in intervals of two over the course of a week
i've had sensitive teeth prior, but only in my anterior teeth due to enamel erosion, so this is totally new: two of the molars i had worked on have been hypersensitive to temperature, though more so pressure, when they never were before? i have also recently noted that the grooves in the affected teeth are far more deeper than the grooves in my other molars
further, i've gone back to the same dentist three times over the course of time between now and when i had first noticed the sensitivity in my teeth a couple of weeks after my fillings, and he'd only make me grind my teeth on this thin black piece of plastic and then used the dremel a bit then sent me on my way - this has done absolutely nothing in terms of resolving my sensitivity
since the last time i went, my dentist had told me to give my teeth a month to see if it resolves itself - and it has been over a month - and i'm planning on returning soon
does anyone have any knowledge in tooth issues that could perhaps benefit me? i'm not sure if i should continue seeing my current dentist and hope he can help me at some point, or seek more refined help elsewhere. i fear the worse, that the pulp of my tooth may have been exposed or while the filling was curing, it left some sort of minute crack or gap
tl;dr two of my teeth have been abnormally sensitive to temperature (hot/cold) and mainly pressure after having fillings done last december; i have seen my dentist three times since then; my dentist has done nothing to help thus far yet recommended i visit them a month after my last visit (now) if it didn't relieve. advice?

have you tried using sensitivity toothpaste? i use sensodyne and it works pretty well, and i think i used to have a prescription toothpaste too for sensitivity. it might be good for temporary relief; also try not to let really sugary, hot, or cold things touch your teeth. (my teeth are naturally crazy sensitive, so over the years i've adjusted the ways i eat and drink things to accomodate that) but yeah, if it only started after getting those fillings, try seeing a different dentist. a good doctor would have x-rayed your teeth or something to make sure they didn't botch the filling.
Balls. I know how you feel. I had my wisdom teeth removed either last December or the one before that, and my teeth haven't been the same since. I have massive gaps between my molars that hurt and a few teeth with gum erosion that also hurt when I eat hot/cold. Sensodyne didn't help me. I should really go to a new dentist but I've been busy and lazy so I haven't. Teeth are in your head, and anything wrong with your head is a really big deal, so get it looked at asap.
i've used brand-name sensitivity toothpaste before, but it honestly never worked too well? and i've never tried sensodyne, since i can't afford it but i already avoid eating hot/cold/sugary foods and i'll usually chew on the opposite side of my mouth to avoid any pain and what-not, just because i've had mildly sensitive teeth for as long as i can remember lol
that's what i've been thinking!! he would have at least done an x-ray, so next visit i'm going to ask about that and if nothing good comes out of it, i'll switch dentists; thanks!
hhh gum erosion sounds horrible i literally cringe whenever it comes to anything wrong with the gums ; ___ ; i hope you can get that all taken care of!
but i'm definitely going to look into having an x-ray done next visit and if i can't get something done about my teeth then i'm just gonna switch, i don't wanna mess my teeth up anymore than they already are haha thank you!! ; u ;

I have bad teeth, it runs in the family. Some people juzt get screwed, but i understand! Sometimes when you get a lot of work done your teeth can still hurt year after. Worst comes to worst, there is a cavity under your filling.
But i always have sensitive teeth thanks to my fillings. Ive learned to live around them and avoid cold stuff against them. Mainly heavy sugar, very cold and very hot hurts them. (Sensitidine doesnt work for me.) I just learn to eat around them...know where they are at...ect. sometimes you just have to accept its gonna hurt. It will get better over time though....
