So tmo's new phone plans make it possible for someone like me (I currently use my brother in laws old samsung galaxy the first) to upgrade to a brand new device! I was so excited because most of the phones are 50 dollar down payment, and you just pay off the phone 20 extra bucks a month so its like whatever. AND they're going to add the iphone 5 to the tmobile family on the 12th of April! So now I don't know if I should get the Iphone 5, Nexus 4, or Samsung Note 2 because essentially I can afford them all! Anyone out there have any of these phones that could give me some insight to how they function for you and your general happiness with them? Please ping me! I have a bit of time to decide. edited for typos
- I have a droid 3, because I require a slider phone. I saw a video for the iphone and samsung g3... surprisingly the g3 completely was destroyed by a drop, while the iphone just dented some. If you're a dropper, think about that. I wouldn't get anything without a slider, myself, and apple can suck it, but I know that there's people who do like them so.... Tmobile doesn't even cover up here, just verizon, sigh.
collecting Hello long lost Ned <3 I really don't know what to decide on, I have ALWAYS envied and wanted an iphone, but now that there's so many options I dont know what to do.
I'm not sure if you've seen the iPhone 5 bendgate, there have been some reports of people actually bending their iphone5s..,not sure how true it is, but you can google it... Seems to be an issue when people sit with the phone in their pocket. Also, iPhones don't have Bluetooth transfer, which can be kind of annoying when wanting to transfer photos and stuff with other phones... Everything goes trough iTunes on iPhone.
I was sort of feeling a lean to the galaxy s 3 after being told about 5 million different phones by my boyfriend. It has expandable memory with the sd slot and you can at least change the battery when it dies. But it bends? Probably because its made of some metal the iphone 5. And I never have had any reason to transfer photos, I kind of am low key on my phone usage atm, since my phone can't handle much and I'm not big on downloading games.

The iphone5 is made of aluminum.. I'm not sure how true it is, it seems to bend at a certain spot, and if you're not putting it in your pocket and jostling it about I doubt it'll actually bend. SIII are huge.. just saying.. I own an sII and like it simply because I have a tendency to stick my phone in my pocket and it's the perfect size for it and the size of the sIII is actually a significant factor of why I've been reluctant to upgrade to an sIII. That said, the sIII is a beautiful phone, and unlike the HTC Butterfly( HTC Droid in the US, I believe) it has removable storage... so I'd say go ahead and get it.
I've been an iPhone user for 4 years, and despite it being an uber popular phone and a variety of apps, it's really limited in what you can customize and change (I'm talking Apple's main code that doesn't allow you to change things without jailbreaking). Also, each update of the iPhone is basically the old phone with 1-2 more features, so in terms of $, it's really not that worth it. Also, it takes for-freaking-ever to update to a new iOS and backing up and A LOT of problems (such as losing contacts, memory being wiped, super duper slow update time and not to mention everything is through iTunes, and iTunes is definitely not my Go-To music player). In terms of commercial value, the iPhone is actually facing huge competition from the Galaxy phones right now, and a lot of people are saying Samsung is better (I agree, but it's an opinion). Now don't get me wrong, I do love my iPhone and switching to a 'droid wasn't easy (still haven't fully made the commitment). But one of my friends currently has the Galaxy 3 (smaller version of the Note, pretty much) and although I'm not that used to it, the OS is a lot more flexible and user-friendly. You're able to customize a LOT more. Speed and updating are a lot better, too. Durability...I can't say. But there's videos of drop tests on all those phones that you can check out on YT. xD
Nexus, I don't really know about, except for the fact that it is a universal phone in that if you travel to another country/overseas, its compatible on ALL cellphone wavelengths and companies. (iPhone in Canada is limited to the biggest 2 companies cause the signal waves things don't match the rest). Also, I heard multimedia on the Nexus is beautiful :D
So in summary, If you want customization/flexibility, go for note (not sure about nexus) If you want hipster/cool factor/pretty phone, go for iPhone If you want good video/media phone, go for nexus
Of course if you just want a phone to call...any will work. 8D
So its sort of between the iphone and s3 then I guess since they're the top two in my choices, I can't afford the note 2 its like 200 dollars which I cant afford at this point. I realize the Iphone is a bit sturdier since its metal, and the s3 has a big screen. But I have small hands so I dont know how much I'll appreciate it being huge. I might go with the iphone despite its limit on storage and non removable battery aspect just because its smaller, and if I do have problems I don't neccesarily have to go to my phone company to get it fixed (applestores are like everywhere in California). And I have tried out the apple keyboard and its much easier to work out for me personally. I don't know, I guess I'll see what I choose. I'm so excited though.
If durability is a concern (as it usually is with the large, flat touchscreen phones...) buy a case as soon as you get it!
I've got a Samsung Galaxy SIII Mini, as it was free with my contract, and the contract was pretty cheap. It's got slightly lower specs than the normal sized SIII, but with the benefit of it not being fucking massive. I've not owned an iPhone or anything, so can't compare... I was always put off by the price and typical Apple stuff, like not being able to even remove the battery. My friend has the Samsung Note II, and it's huuuge, but it seems like a decent phone/tablet.

I dont think they offer a mini size for tmo, but they do offer different amounts of gb storage. Which costs more or less depending on what you want. Phones are super huge these days. I'm wondering though if the iphone 5 they still stiff you and sell it without the charger.
