Has anyone here ever contacted Dawson? I personally love listening to his radioshow on Sunday's. He gets a little preachy sometimes, but I think generally he gives good advice.

No, but I used to listen to him a lot too. I felt comforted by it somehow. The only thing I didn't like was that...he never really went deep with any of his advice. It was all very generic - something you could probably get from a stranger down the street. Just my opinion, though, although my older sis agreed with me.

I could see that. I've noticed that he's always very biased towards the caller. There are lots of times where I feel the caller is in the wrong, but of course, he's not going to tell them they're wrong. Sometimes, if it's a situation dealing with an addiction or safety of another, he does tell them "Hey, you need to change this"... but there are some relationship issues I disagree with him on. A few months ago, a caller said she was considering breaking up with her boyfriend because he plays a lot of video games, and he encouraged her to do so...saying that he had an addiction to video games and he wasn't giving the caller enough attention. To a point, I see her side...but I felt like Dawson should have suggested trying to connect to her boyfriend by playing video games with him. I felt like that would help their relationship, and if it didn't, she had her answer.

I actually feel like he cares sometimes. I have talked to the Hopeline before, and they've always given me fairly decent advise. Like, I felt like they read everyone's emails. I joined Dawson's tribe.

Oh yeah, I also noticed that back when I listened to his show. I also noticed he hung up on some people or were really...rough with them. Not sure how to say it. I remember some guy called in and said he wanted to get rid of his addiction to cigarettes, and Dawson said it was impossible to get addicted to cigarettes and that the guy should just get a grip and put the darn cigarettes down. It was very short, I mean, I don't think I even got to hear what the guy had to say back. It was like he gave his advice and then hung up, which was weird to me.

But yes, he definitely does care sometimes and can be very sympathetic with his callers, which is very sweet to me. I'm sure he's saved a couple of lives as well, since I've heard suicidal people calling in and he would be very supportive, saying he'll send help to them right away. I actually recall a homeless woman calling in to his show, and if my memory serves me correctly, he actually offered her a home and told her she had nothing to worry about, that his team was on the way. It was really nice. Overall, listening to his show makes me feel good. A lot of people have problems that are so much worse than mine and they're brave enough to call in and talk about it, then get the help they need. It makes me happy. :)

Oh, I've heard those types of calls before. He gets kind of snippy on some nights, then I write on their facebook and am like "Dawson, are you okay tonight?" Of course, he never sees it. But that Jessica lady does!
