Hi there! First of all let me introduce myself to you 👽 I'm a 20 years old girl/young woman/thing who lives in Belgium. I've always enjoyed traveling to Germany, the culture, the language, the people... My love even grew bigger for Germany with my all time favorite band Tokio hotel.

Today is the second day I've returned from a citytrip to Berlin. I've been there multiple times. Since I was 16 I said I'm going to live there once. Now I'm back home I really, really badly miss it there. It feels almost like I'm heartbroken. I just feel Germany/Berlin is the place I belong... All the time I was here in Belgium feeling down, I know now why...

Should I move out and move to Germany at 20 years old? I'm still living with my parents and I'm at the university. Should I stop school to live my dream? Someone who already experienced moving to a different country? Any advice? My parents think I'm just joking...

Hey, Alien. I live in Germany and I think it's pretty easy to live here, if you are from the EU. Do you want to study in German or do you have already an education? I think it's aboslutly ok, if you move to a different country with 20. It's maybe the best time. Without a husband and children you could just care of yourself. And even if you think in one year you want go back, then just do it. You can't lose, if you explore a new country.

I live just 2 hours from Berlin (with the car) and I have friends there. So I cand help you with stuff and particular the bureaucracy. Maybe you could try a semester abroad. You could get money for it from the "Bafög Amt" etc.

Wow thanks! Do you know if there are any "international schools"? I had german in high school but thats already three years ago... I could follow a fast course for it in that case. Because my German is not as good as it was.

I found this in Berlin http://www.berlin-international-school.com/index.php/en/ Here in Germany are many international schools. The language would be no problem. Don't be afraid. If you can english than it's alright. You could always visit training courses to learn German and if you decide to live in a hostel, then there are so many people who can help you with your German and other things.. If you want I could talk to you German for practise. (And my German is better then my English, hahaha) Sorry, for all the mistakes.

Just a bit of advice: I would finish getting an education first instead of abandoning everything and just going to Germany. Germany will still be there in the few years it will take for you to finish university.

edit: Unless you meant you wanted to switch into a University in Germany, and then just continue living there...

Move! Your uni can help you switch to a German uni. They're usually awesome with that.

Don't worry about the language. I get by in Germany when I'm there and I only studied it for six months in fifth grade. They speak decent English.
