I had an appointment yesterday and was weighed...I'm almost at 180. I was never this heavy minus during my pregnancy (I hit 210 then). I bought a weight loss supplement and plan on joining a gym. I am cutting out soda and junk food and I'm not eating amusement park or fast food anymore. It's gonna be hard, but I can do this!

Any tips?

Weight loss supplements can be incredibly dangerous, which one in particular are you going to take?

I recommend cutting down significantly on meat, especially red meat. If you're up to it full-blown vegetarianism is good too. It'll definitely help a lot.

I've been using a NutriBullet to make a juice/smoothie to replace one meal per day. I haven't been doing it long enough to know if I've lost any weight, but I feel better, less bloated. I'm trying to give up soda too, but ugh, I like it too much. And I have certain restrictions on my diet that make it hard to eat properly all the time.

I'm taking SlimQuick, and I already barely eat red meat as it is.

I want to try those homemade smoothies. Some of them sound good.

Full day ...stomach is incredibly upset. Tried to eat healthy. Counting calories sucks.

I'd avoid the weight loss supplements. They're ineffective at best and harmful at worst.

Your best bet would be to reduce your portion sizes of the things you eat. Increase your consumption of lean white meat and fish, and reduce your consumption of red meats. Try to avoid as much processed foods as you possibly can, as they are not only bad for you, but often contain high levels of saturated fats and sodium.

Do not skip meals. Do not replace meals with smoothies. Eat proper meals. Avoid all soda. Do not take sugar in your coffee. Limit alcohol.

If you want to lose weight your best option is high intensity interval training, which is usually twenty minutes in length three times a week. Essentially think spin class. But I'm sure you can do a quick google to find out more.

From my own experience the most important factor is your mind so if you REALLY want to lose weight then I'm sure you can. Good luck!

You should totally check out blogilates.com. Cassey is the name of the blogger and she has helped me so much. I couldn't be happier with myself. There is a workout calendar and plenty of healthy recipes.

I just thought that I'd suggest this! Also - don't think of it as losing weight, think of it as a lifestyle change to be a healthier you! ^-^

I've encountered a setback. Was pushing my son in his stroller and managed to step on a rear wheel and screw up my ankle. I did this Sunday, it's now Tuesday and the outside of my foot is still numb. Yay!

Not sure if i'm a big help, but my doc always advised to keep using the foot/ankle. If your ankle hurts.. keep moving it so it doesn't get stiff. However, in your position i'd keep my workout to the ground right now. And i mean, lying down. There are plenty of gymnastic exercises you can do while lying.

Also, my personal advice would be to not exclude certain types of meat, at least not completely. Try to eat everything, but in reasonable amounts. When i tried to go vegetarian, i got a massive hair loss. Talking to my doc, he explained the lack of meat (or more: iron) was most likely the reason for it. However, i'd cut down the amount of meat and when you are eating meat, i'd replace the carbs with massive amounts of vegetables. Im trying to eat less carbs in general and i avoid beans, massive amounts of cheese (.. ;_;..), premade sauces like ketchup or mayonaise and sweet drinks of all kinds (juice included). If you get bored of water, drip a bit of pure lemon juice in it. Just if you like sour stuff of course. I do. ^^

Also, i usually buy fruits and chocolates if they come in small, individually packed portions. So if you have this craving for chocolate, you can go ahead and eat one or two pieces. If you ripp open a huge package, you are much more likely to eat the entire thing. And i personally don't have the strength to avoid chocolate entirely. xD

What else.. oh right, i try to avoid premade food entirely. Means.. as long as i don't know whats inside i don't eat fries, pizza, pasta, hamburger, hotdogs, asian takeaway or anything else. If i'm not outside for the purpose of eating out, i don't buy food someone else made.

And.. i'm working out each day. At least 20 minutes. And if its just situps or something, keep your body moving and get a routine in this kind of exercise.

I was on it for nine hours today...it's killing me. I broke down and ate popcorn chicken at work because my son ate the lunch I had made...

Been drinking tons of water, been avoiding sweets (have had a couple sodas...maybe 1/2 of a can a day). I eat maybe twice a day...don't get much time to eat while at work...one 15 minute break doesn't really help...

Ah thats a problem.. You should try to eat at least three times a day. Your body needs energy and leaving out meals makes him feel like starving. Your body will try to store everything he gets . Maybe take an apple with you to work? Not being able to eat healthy once or twice is not a huge problem. Can you try to compensate for it? Like eating a big salad for the next meal? And i know its hard.. But try to avoid sweet drinks. Those are your worst enemies if you try to lose some pounds !
