Your custom clothing Roguish Trickster Locks was denied for the following reason(s): • OVERLAY: Shaky, rough, or inconsistent lineart • OVERLAY: Thick or heavy lineart • ITEM: Not enough layers of shading (Subeta artwork should have 3-5 layers of shading) • NOTE: Not enough layers of shading refers to the mannequin face.
What was rejected:
(I think the "inconsistency" for the lineart occurred in photoshop resizing so I resized this time in Sai) Also made the lineart a little thinner which is very frustrating since the first time I ran these through everyone said my lines were too thin and to match them to the avatar base which is what I did and it landed me with a "your lines are too thick"
I'm no artist, but wow, those are really good. I like a lot of pieces from each set. :o
Some of your items I like quite a bit - both sets of gloves, pants, and most of the jewelry - but in general I think your lines are on the thin side so I'd suggest thickening them a little. I really like the idea of the pillared bg but would really suggest that you try adding some lines to the stairs and pillars and see how that looks. Overall it's really well done but something about it is just looking off to me and I think it's the lack of linework that's causing that. Mmm, I rather like the green wig too although I'm not a fan of the ponytail and white bits in it but that's just preference and not an issue with your art at all. Aside from those . . . well, the cream tunic looks kind of flat (might need some darker shadows/interior lines to help with that), the winter bg almost looks a little too cartoony to me and I'm just not sure what's going on with the dragon stuff.
Overall though I think you've will definitely find a market for your stuff in CWs if the application doesn't work out. :)
thanks. I've really been struggling to find a happy medium between lines that aren't thick enough and lines that are too thick. And it keeps winding up one or the other. After I've made a few more items I'll play around with it some more.
I still have to make another NPC and would like to make at least 3 or 4 more items (so exhausted lol)
Yeah, line width is tricky until you find the settings that work for you. I know a few of us have shared what works for us in this post so that might give you an idea? I know the settings vary a fair bit depending on what program you use but hopefully that can help. :)
