mom and I have spent countless hours on him, and he's finally complete. Opinions? Keep in mind this is my first time making a doll of this magnitude. He's 18 inches. Mom did the sewing because I can not sew a straight line to save my life. Let alone make a custom clothing pattern. I know his pants don't have stripes - none of our fabric stores (and we only have two local ones here) had the right kind of fabric with the right kind of print.

Wow~! That's really impressive.

oooh it's so cute <3 I think it looks a lot like him! Great Job!! :D
- Looks like he turned out pretty well--you chose some nice buttons for his eyes! What did you use to draw his facial features?
Also, I'm sure you could sew a straight line with some practice! Especially with a machine. Was the outfit all hand-stitched, or did you guys manage to use a sewing machine on it, by the way? I seem to always resort to hand-stitching small stuff, but because of either my inexperience or the poor quality of my work, it always seems to be prone to tear open if stressed!
Mom was able to work out the sewing machine for MOST Of his outfit, but on the buttons and accents she handstitched (and that iron-on material she's got works wonders too XD). the shoes I painted on, and for his face I drew the features in with a micron pen .05, and mom painted the bottom lip and eye scars.
I attached the eyes, hair, sewed the ears and wings, and put the skulls on his jacket. Mom helped me make the notch in his ear XD
I can sorta sew a straight line, but I'm very very VERY slow when doing so XD We have a foot pedal on the machine that i tend to step down too hard on and it messes up my stitching XD So i let mom do most sewing. lol
My great aunt used to do lots of handstitching and it always held up really well - but she was very very experienced and could sew pretty much anything and make her own patterns and all...so XD yeah. When I handstitch it's prone to tearing too XD
