CC I am so irritated. I went shopping today to get new shoes. I just wanted some adorable new shoes, preferably of the skate variety. So I go to the only shoe store in town that isn't Walmart or JCPenny's and find out that they have stopped selling all skate shoes. No DCs, no Vans, no Etnies, no DVSs, no nothing. :c Only like athletic/running shoes and dress shoes. So now I have to order online and wait until they arrive to have new shoes. ;-;
Yikes, that does indeed suck. The whole town doesn't have any sort of skate shoes? What? Good luck though. Maybe petition to the stores that they should have skate shoes within their store?
Come live w/ me gurl. We'll buy new shoes err'day.
I live in Nebraska. xD The town only has Walmart, JC Penny's, Dollar General, the local store I went too called Browns, the farmer clothes store, and then this place called Alco that's like er.. idk better than Dollar General yet crappier than Walmart? xD There is like absolutely nothing, idk what a petition would do either, the store is a business and idk how many people would sign it just to make them carry certain shoes.
Omg I wish. ;-;
I know how you feel. I live in a small redneck town in georgia. it sucks T-T it's one of those towns where everybody knows everybody. the only main stores we have are a walmart, kmart, jcpenny and tjmax, and they never have anything of my taste. I love hot topic and spenser's best, but I have to drive 50 miles out of town to just shop at those places. the only store we have similar to those is rue21.
Oh gosh, that sucks. Interesting stores though. I don't think I've ever heard of Brown or Alco. Ah, I see. There is that. Though I'm sure people would like some good shoes, but then again, I don't know. Good luck.
I feel your pain. The town I grew up in didn't even have a Wal-Mart. We had to drive half an hour just to get to a store that wasn't Dollar General or a grocery. I couldn't wait to get the hell out of that place. Now I'm 3 minutes from Wal-Mart and 10 (with traffic) from the mall....it makes life so much more convenient.
The town I live in has less that 1000 people. The only stores of note are a pharmasave, variety store, grocery store, and strangely, two pizza places. It's a half hour drive to slightly bigger town, and about an hour to any that actually have things like malls. :
I live in a big city in New England.. Just to demonstrate the size.. we have 5 public high schools each with roughly 1k students in each.. And these 5 high schools are just for kids who live in this city.
But now I am going to college in a small town. Its still not as small as you all are describing but still. xD I would never be able to live in a small town. x.x I would die.
I know how you feel D: Like, believe me or not, my town has like, 6,3k citizens O_O And no decent stores here too. Everytime when I want to buy some clothes I have to go to another town >_>

The actual town I live in is a village of 40 people, but the town I shop in has like 6-7k too. xD
OMG xD I can't wait to get out of here xD

Whoa. I can't imagine living in such a small town! I live in Las Vegas and, yeah, I can get anything I want anywhere pretty much 24/7 lol.
Ack, I know how you feel. I have to drive at least 30 minutes out of town to do proper shopping. The only stores we have in town are a grocery store, a local pharmacy, a Rite Aid, and a copious amount of hardware stores for whatever reason. haha.
Small towns are so... blah. >.>
I live in a city area (not crazy big city with skyscrapers, just population wise), and sometimes I feel very limited with shopping options. There are like 3 Targets and Walmarts I can run to easily, yet they carry all the same things, and sometimes it isn't much. Every Walmart around here has turned into a Super Walmart and it seems like they have less of a selection to choose from when it comes to clothes and shoes, because the focus is on the food section. I haven't bought hardly any clothes since my local Walmart went super. They only carry like basic colored shirts and junk :( And forget it when it comes to more "formal wear". None at Walmart. I have to wear business casual 5 days of the week so I have been on the constant hunt..and well I have had better luck at thrift stores - price and quality brand wise...
Shoe shopping drives me crazy. I am very picky, but it's hard for me to find non-hooker high heels. I can not wear high sky heels at all, but it's so hard to find mini heels and wedges. :c And purses! So many ugly prints, and boxy ones with a million pockets lately, ugh!
I have to drive at least 3 hours to get some decent stores. If I wanted to go to an actual mall or anything I would have to drive 6. xD
I know what you mean about that. I used to live in a suburb of the twin cities and it seemed like either I had to drive really far to get to a specific store or I just ended up at the MoA because all the suburbs only really had super walmarts and super targets. lol
;__; I know how you feel. I got to travel to find clothing I like or even order offline. I live in a tiny town in West Yorkshire, England, and we only have two shoe stores, I think. Actually, one. Its a shop for old fancy people or little children 3-7 year olds. We did have one but it closed down. The only other places we can get shoes are super markets which all sell the same type of shoe. I want me some big gothic boots x'D but I have to travel to Leeds which is like an hour away on the train to go to a shop that specializes in gothic clothing. Might I add its rather small too and cramped, but at least we have that and im grateful for it.

[/center]That really sucks. haha. I'm so glad the my tiny town isn't so far away from bigger cities. The shopping choices in the area are still pretty lame though, but at least they're there.
