I'm a chef-in-training so I'll be applying to restaurants and hotels for the summer!

I'm looking for either a job or an internship for over summer, maybe both.. i kinda realised it's my last summer before i graduate so i should probably start making my cv look impressive :p Ideally i'd like some sort of publishing internship, but they're obviously really competitive so idk. Anything media/writing based would be good really.

As for a job i'm not too fussy, i just need the money.. i don't think i'd be any good at waitressing though, so not that. Some kind of clothes shop where i got a nice discount would be lovely, haha

shew, I don't think I will be getting a job this summer. I know I'll be traveling a lot this year but this is my last year to do so. I'll be soooo busy when school starts up again after summer break. :c

I find internships are so hard to get, which is odd because its like free help o.o Yep, I'm basically looking for a job to beef up my resume as well! I hope you can find something in media, that would be so awesome. My friend worked for a company that makes documentaries before and she got to go with them while they filmed and she thought the experience was fantastic.

Ooooh traveling, mind if I ask where? I used to travel a lot but not so much anymore. I'd love to go to Europe again soon if I get the chance ^_^

I was supposed to go to Amsterdam, but we'll see how that turns out. c: If not, my boyfriend and I are going to Florida and spending some time away from our current stress. Hell, while we're in Florida, we're thinking about going to Disney World.

Where do you live? I think Disneyland is looking for chefs. ^_^

Absolutely, if you get a summer position I hear lots of places will just extend it and offer you a full time position for the rest of the year! Thats a great job, especially during summer because (well I guess depending on where you live) but in my city summer means lots of tourists :)

My city is a tourist destination too. We're lake country, wine country, orchard country, and we have a lot of outdoor activities around here for people and a pretty nice art area with performances. It's a great place to vacation actually!

Ohhh that sounds so nice.. my immediate area isn't like that at all (very urban) but if I travel for a little bit wine/lake country isn't too bad at all :) I guess you could even try getting work at a winery reception desk or something. That would be so awesome :D

We're actually very urban as well, but we're located in a valley and we just have cities built in and amongst big orchard spaces and nature. It's a great environment! I'm looking at anything that doesn't involve me doing heavy lifting and standing all day!

Oh no :( I'm so sorry to hear that! Have you tried looking for jobs like waitressing/hosting? Evening having a few part-time jobs might work out!

Oh yes girl.McDonald,Burger King,Wendy's,Harvey's,Wal-mart... EVERYWHERE!(Even sex shop you know?).I'm really not happy to apply for Mcdo/BK....I hate the odour :unheart:. Sometimes,I don't have the choice I guess :/

Oh dear, no luck still?! That seriously sucks. I know what you mean about the odour though, plus with all that junk food around its so hard to stay healthy! What kind of work would you have ideally?

No luck :/I was called once by Mcdonald's but it was too far from home.I don't eat junk food or fast-food.They makes me sick and gaining weight.Erhhmmm..I don't know.Place that are not made of 100% fat and make your hair oil-y and horrible :P?(Though,If I don't have the choice..I will).

I'm looking for an internship/co-op right now. I'm studying industrial engineering (and art history) so I'm looking for something in the engineering field, along with every single other engineer in the university.
