I see all of the lovely clothes in the menagerie, but I have no idea how to obtain trinkets except by buying them...

it was an event a few months ago. the masquerade shop is still open (in atebus) but the event is over. you can buy the trinkets, (steamworks trinket and Lounge Trinket) in shops if you really want them :)
