I have never used the zapper before but recently I got a pet that I want to turn into an experiment . I probably can be patient because it takes me forever to make progress with my pets, but I'm not sure. I train all my pets to level 50 with stats maxed so stats wouldn't be a waste.
What have been other people's experiences with the zapper or the dew? What do you think is the better plan in terms time and sp?

my experiences with the UPZ is that there isn't much of an increase in stats from it. It is cheaper than the MPII, but nowadays the price of Wizard Tokens may mean you're better off questing for them yourself instead of buying them. The slime and goop minions that you get from it are sellable as they are stat boosters.
The Dew is way overpriced compared to your chance of getting just the Experiment you want. It's a random thing, and it appears to be one of those items that New Saggitarius (tm) was requesting to everyone's profit.
- I tried for eons to get an experimental pet (any - not a specific one) and I eventually gave up. I don't recall how many tokens I used, but it was a lot. The time waiting between zaps is also a killer.
Price wise, you have to look at the cost of tokens - how many you have stockpiled, the current price, or the time and effort to earn them yourself from wizard quests. The experimental dew isn't cheap, though not that expensive either.
On the other hand, you could zap the pet you want the very first time :D! Not likely, but possible. I would recommend deciding ahead of time how many tokens you are willing to use for this (or how much time you want to spend), then when/if you reach that limit, buy the Experimental Dew.
