Answered! - Invalid character in pet name

Can someone help me with this? I'm trying to rename a pet, but it won't let me. The name has both an á and a space in it, but the strange thing is that I already have a pet with an á in his name (Brúidársa), and another one with spaces (The Loch Ness Monster), so I can't figure out what's causing the error message >.<

I tried to rename a pet, but it wouldn't let me ("Invalid character in name!" error message). The name (Manannán Mac Lir) has both an á and a space in it, but the strange thing is that I already have pets with an á (Brúidársa), and with spaces (The Loch Ness Monster), so I can't figure out which of the two characters is causing the error. Figuring out by trial-and-error is a bit expensive for me, so could you help? Thanks in advance!

Hello, Celt! It's likely that the issue is with the special-character a in the name; many special characters are no longer accepted by the system due to repeated problems they were causing. Pets already using those characters are "grandfathered" in when changes like that are made, so you wouldn't see those restrictions imposed on pets whose names already feature them.

Oh darn, I tend to name my pets in Irish which is riddled with acute accents XD On the other hand; if there's a pet called Draíocht, can I create another pet called Draiocht or do they register as the same name?

I've confirmed with the programmers that accented characters can't be used anymore, and also that a pet with an accented letter counts as the same pet as one without the accented letter (so Draíocht and Draiocht would pull up the same pet).
When did you make those pets? Maybe it's a new thing where they don't accept those characters?

Thank you both for your help! Both pets were created in 2008 and 2010, so quite a while ago. I submitted a ticket to verify which of the two characters (accented á or space) was causing the problem, and it seems accented characters are no longer accepted.
