So I was reading through the rules of the custom overlay thing that you pay 500 csc for, and it says, "Don't simply adjust the hue/saturation/colour of official artwork - this distorts quality/lines."

I have done a recolor of the glad Noctoa so that it looks more autumn oriented, and I added a spider in the horns:

Does this constitute as just a color adjustment? Would it be useable as an overlay? I just don't want to end up getting in trouble or wasting 500 CSC for it if it isn't going to work...

If you submit it and it is not acceptable your csc will be refunded. that being said, you may want to file a ticket and get a definitive answer before submitting.

I'm not an expert on custom overlays by any meas, but I don't really see anything wrong with that. I've had 2 custom overlays approved, and both are edits of the official art. One of them even is essentially just a tweak of the "hue/saturation/color" and it doesn't seem to be a problem. I think they're just trying to ensure some sort of quality control.

SPOILER (click to toggle) Official/Custom Overlay:
I think there's a little line distortion on my custom overlay, but if you look at the original, it's there too. Changing the colors just brought it out more. Your's look cleaner than mine, though.
